I am the last person to be posting this idea since I rarely, if ever, get to the cinema to see movies meant for anyone over the age of 18.

I really do not give a crap about the Academy Awards, but I am proposing a contest concerning the following categories:

Best Film
Best Actor/Actress
Best Supporting Actor/Actress
Best Director
Best Original/Adapted Screenplay

While the other categories are actually very much important, like in music, my figuring out the balance of points here will be easier.

Then again, if there are any suggestions as to additional categories, I am all open.

Let's have some fun with this.

Once I know the level of participation, I can offer actual prizes.

This would be the current list of nominees. What would happen is a percentage point system. You can spread out the percentages over the list of nominees in each category, or place all your eggs in one basket. Then, when the Awards show is over, I would (with some help) tally the points and determine the top three winners.

In light of certain recent events, I think I will drop this idea of a movie contest.
