    Hi Anne,
I quite like your post , as many Transgendered people [ my self included], will at one point or other begin to express/explore themselves by speculative trips to such nice shops . At all times be discreet and courteous with respect to the owner and their business. I recall [ quite a while ago now ] I would never think to enter "my favourite shop", if there was already a customer in the shop . In time if you are careful and courteous , a good understanding relationship may develop with the shop owner.Nowadays I talk about dogs and gardening to J who runs my favourite shop whenever I visit , as apparently I am good source of Knowledge. I really appreciate this friendship. And yes , we can laugh together at the time [ now getting a distant memory]when I wore a wig in mid summer, struggling to regain composure as the sweat poured down my face, making a right Royal Mess of the make up . On reflection of whats happened to me now, Its interesting to recall certain shop visits when J would say "how can I help you this TIME", and a look of "where are you going too?". For me there a discernable point when It didnt matter about the purchases anymore. J was the first person to know I was going to change my name , and the person who I could express "why" , when I knew that other people in my Life where maybe not ready to hear this from me . .. yes indeed these shops are very helpful

I've been out shopping in ladies clothing stores quite a bit, but I find a lingerie shop much harder. With the exception of shopping for and picking up a lingerie/delicates laundry bag, I haven't managed to shop at all in a lingerie store, as much as I'd love to...

  • sadly the lingerie shop I mentioned in the original posting has since closed down,  That's why I removed the text, it was a recommendation to anyone in Wetherby.

The nice thing is though that I have become friends with the owner of the shop and we keep in touch and meet up for a coffee every now and then.

I've only met her in drab, but she knows about me and I often show her clkothes I've bought.

  • Madeleine, if you want to go shopping for lingerie in our area, go to Bayshore Shopping Center. They have a lot of nice shops to choose from. "La Vie en Rose" is there and is a good place to start.

Thanks Doanna. While I've come a long way in a short time, I'm still just too uncomfortable shopping for myself in a lingerie store : ( Even if I could handle it, I'd guess that sizing at places like La Vie en Rose, La Senza, or Victoria's Secret could be a problem for a girl like me : ( I'd probably have more luck at Addition-Elle if I could handle it. Then again, maybe not. I've been surprised on sizing before : )

  • im actually very lucky, size wise. i know my size, and its always available. i have also got the the stage where i can shop with a fair amount of confidence. my last trip to exeter, for my apointment at the laurels, my mum and dad came with me (dad went wandering while i was in lol, tho my mum came in with me). i was fully dressed, only the 2nd time my dad had seen me, and afterwards we went shopping round the city centre. neither my mum or dad were phased, and they coped really well, right up to the point when my dad called me over in the middle of next, but calling me martin !! haha, out loud, talk about giving the game away. we did laugh. sorry, ive digressed. although not quite a specialist lingerie shops, me and my mum did shop in the lingerie section of various department stores. i made no one i noticed feel uncomfortable, even having a conversation on how nice some of the bikinis and underwear sets were with a couple of really lovely ladies. maybe im just very lucky, in that i only seam to meet the nice people, but so far, ive not experienced any of the negatives ive been expecting from any one other than my (ex) best friend, and my brother.

  • Irenes lingerie shop. I think it is in connecticut. Christine is a doll and loves to help get you what you need. She sensed my nervousness and actually helped me over the hump to accept myself and accept my fem side. I love her and wish she was closer

She used to be in California a couple hours south but now sadly back east.

  • Madeleine, as long as you are not heavy, you would probably get by with a size large...or the next size up - for lingerie. short can be a good thing...LOL

Short? I'm tall, too tall. Not terribly heavy given my height, but I do need to lose a few : )
For clothes shopping in general, I've been surprised how easy it is to find things that fit, even how many clothes are too big, but lingerie may be a little different.

  • Not sure why but the more confidence I build the more it seems that when I am shopping the womans section the more I notice other women could give a care less that I am shopping there too. A polite excuse me if we cross on the racks and I feel as if I am treated like another woman, even in drab. Same thing in the lingerie department. I bought a new purse yesterday and the sales lady though my choice was a good one because how it hangs on your body. Then when checking out the cashier said "here is your new purse" and I am in drab. Do these women have a sixth sense???

  • Well I finally did it. In drab no less went into Nordstroms and asked for a bra fitting. The lady could not be nicer as we chatted away about breasts and proper bra sizing. I was a mile off with what I thought I took, She fit me with a cute number and I had the time of my life. I love that store. The store manager emailed me back after i gave a positive review and she wants to meet me and do my makeup in the cosmetic section, wow what is a girl to do. Life just got a little better.

  • My favourite lingerie shop is Spicy Lingerie. Because they have a huge collection of bra, lingerie, costumes, bikini and many more, so I can easily find my suitable outfits from there. You want to see my lingerie. It is here.

    Hello Everyone ,

I hope you are all well , I am a fashion student and I am currently looking into the possibility of developing a lingerie line for the transgender community as I have noticed that theres nothing out there and it would help me out alot if you can take 2 minutes of your time to complete my survey.

I think this needs to be removed along with it's duplicate below. I tried the link today 4/29/2017 at 2:45 PM EDT and it is no longer a valid link. Just thought I'd save others from wasting their time as I just have done!

  • Thankyou Berta for bringing this to my attention,   Some post leaving links are full of good intention, some are just what amounts to spam,    Usually any advert that mention clothes designed for tranny's, trans people is overpriced, bad quality or both, that any 'normal; woman would not be seen dead in.    Open crutch panties included. lol, for those that have difficulty purchasing accesories and clothes from normal' womens shops should just order on line from a reputable womans store.

This poster was running a poll that has now expired and that's why I thought the 2 postings should be removed.

I am in complete agreement with you, my limited "Berta" shopping is done just about 100% on-line via eBay and plus size CD friendly sites I've used before. The only delemma I cannot solve for my huge Berta sized gurl is where I can find some simply made and priced satin brief style panties to fit my 50-52 inch waist and 54 inch hips. I am a full time satin panty lover and wearer but my collection is fast wearing out and the vendors I purchased from no longer offer them. If your femme shopping has had any good results in that area of my need I'd love to hear back from you. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
