Dear Doanna, it's natural for a woman to feel this way. My step daughter is trying to deal with this now as she can't have children and so far, has not been able to adopt. Like you, I have a wonderful daughter. And when I have feelings like you're dealing with, I take solace in that even though I wasn't able to carry her in my womb, she is part of me.

Early in my transition and even now, I assume I don't pass. I've found that there is very little difference in the way you are treated as long as you be yourself.
