  • About Me i'm here, it's a start....more to tell later, probably.....OK, yes, I initially lied about my age - aren't we supposed to? OK, more stuff: started at 7 with my sister's clothes, then my friend's sister's, and on and on with infrequent opportunuties. At 15, I had a gf, and she and I with two other friends (girls) were hanging out in basement of DD's, consuming large quantities of Boone's Farm Apple wine. All teh girls admired my eyelashes - " they're like brushes! You should be a girl.." After which they convinced me to let them do my eyes. Then we all agreed fully clothed in some of DD's clothes would be a good idea...I had shoulder length hair then, and actually I looked pretty good! And that was it. From then on I was wanting to be on the other team. No matter how much I tried to push it down. I did as many "macho" things I could: did the "hero" stuff in Vietnam (2 years - but still bought "scanties" on R&R in Australia!). Like Ed Wood, I hoped I wouldn't be wounded. Back home and into college. Met a girl (this is what I'm supposed to do, right?). We would have "sexy night" and I would wear some of her undies and stuff. But I was pretty much underdressing all the time, anyway. We had a child and I really put the brakes on dressing up...I was unemployed and at home a lot so I could mailorder stuff by phone or snail-mail (no internet yet). I don't know how many skirts/dresses went to charity those days, trying not to do this; be a man ferchrissakes! Fast forward to two years ago and out of the blue I was lookiing at a surfing catalog and I saw this dress and " I have to buy THAT DRESS!". Short hair, no make-up, no wig, "what the f**k am I doing???" Daughter off to college, alone in a big house. Nobody ever stops by...safe to dress! Finally a YouTube tutorial on CD helped me learn how to use makeup. Waited until I was happy with everything before I ventured out in my "metamorphosis". Then told my psych MD about it; he was understanding and thought my severe depression was due to supressing Robin for so long. So we are exploring gender identity and hope to begin hormone treatment soon....

Hi Masi, I have Harvard-Pilgrim (I don't know if they insure outside New England area). They say they will not cover "transexual surgury including related drugs or procedures". Have to ask them about HRT, does not specifically say "NO" to that but could be included with transexual related drugs? Grey area for sure...I'll let you know what I find out...

Hi everyone, I have HUGE hands from working outside (construction) most of my life - they are like catcher's mitts! One thing I found is when using nail polish, i do not apply polish to teh whole nail - i leave maybe 1/16 inch on both sides to give the illusion of thinner fingers. I am staying away from bracelets, as much as would like to have them, as I think it would only draw attention to teh very thing I am trying to hide. Hope this helps! -Robin

      Michelle Lynn Hi Robin -
Wish I lived closer, I would love to be your wing girl so to speak! Sorry to hear you ended up crying on your birthday!!!!
It was good to hear that the American Eagle staff was so understanding and you actually wear a size less than you thought. Hope you get many complements when you wear them. Now you have to shop for a couple of cute tops to go with those jeans!!!

(Demi Moore, Lauren Bacall, and Jane Lynch of Glee come to mind). But DO relax and take your time...most women speak deliberately and thoughtfully...
      Have fun!
