More progress...

It's been quite a volatile time since my last blog entry but things are settling down again now.

Quite a bit of work has been carried out on the site behind the scenes and you will find that you can now log in using your user name as well as your email address.  That's in readiness for transferring all of our member's profiles across from the other site.  Of course, they are all used to logging in with their user names which is why we had to make this fundamental change.

While the work was going on there was a period of a few days when nobody could log in at all.  My apologies for that.

I think I mentioned it before, but you can also now log in using a number of other online communities like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn and heaps more.  You can also connect your account here, to any number of online communities.  I’m connected to four as I write this.  That means that you can make a status update and it will appear in all the communities you are connected to (if they have status updates) or you can bring across your albums and photos streams from Flickr and PhotoBucket.  You can now really make the Gender Society the centre of your social world.  It’s really cool.

We have a heap of new software going in over the next few days.  Please do play with it and let me know what you think.

  • Rae K and Nikki M like this
  • Rae K Ah, interesting to see that I 'like' this. iirc, when I pressed the button nothing appeared to happen ...
  • katieglover How's that Rae? It does seem to have worked. Please let me know if that happens again (or if nothing happens again). Hugs, Katie x
  • Rae K It could be a slight glitch with mozilla. I have a similar problem on another forum. I actually clicked 'like' on your blog and not this update. Nothing happened. I then find I 'like' this announcement. It's probably a delay somewhere ...
