Times have been very hard recently and they're getting harder. I'm not a depressive person (honest) and am normally bright and upbeat about most things. However, I can see from looking at the tone of my blog so far, that I've done nothing but moan and complain.
Sorry. I think it's because I'm not used to being a loser - I need to win. However, no matter what I've done to try to make Trannyweb a success over the past few years, I have always been thwarted and we continue to go downhill.
If we had been a business that relied upon a steady income to pay it's staff and other bills, we would have been bankrupt long ago. However, we have no premises to pay rent for and I have not had to worry too much about having a salary since I received an inheritance two years ago and that has kept me and us going.
That money is starting to run out now and so we really, really, really do need to make Trannyweb into a proper business that will pay for itself or I'm afraid that it will go under. This is especially true since the lost our PayPal account and more than two thirds of our membership subscriptions and since the news this week that Metacharge have lost us about two thirds of the remaining subscriptions because of an administrative error at their end.
If we were just a silly hobby web site then I don't think many would miss us, but Trannyweb is so much more than that for so many people.
Since 1999 I've received many emails from trannies who had been right on the edge and who found friendship and the will to carry on when they discovered Trannyweb. Those girls wrote to me to say thank you for their lives!
On another level, the vast archive of forum posts we've amassed over the years is so rich with information for those just starting out and those who are just trying to find themselves - it would be tragic if the world were to lose that.
In a last ditch attempt to try to turn Trannyweb into a proper business that does not rely on handouts, I have today written to a marketing company in Los Angeles to see if we can work together to make it a success.
I have also started working on a new and huge Full Members recruitment drive but I just can't do it all alone. I really need your help to try to sell the concept of Full Membership to every Basic member you speak to.
Please be a Trannyweb sales person. If you are talking to a basic member,please ask them to click on Upgrade in the main menu and become a Full Member.
If you are talking to anyone who sells you tranny-related goods, ask them to advertise with Trannyweb. All they need to is drop me a line at [email protected] to get the ball rolling.
Tell them about banner ads on the site and tell them they can have an ad in The Tranny Tribune which is sent to every member monthly (next week's will go out to more than 24,000).
I do appreciate your various offers of donations which will help to keep us going in the short term but to make sure we never get into this situation again, we need to change and we need to sell our community to everyone we meet.
