We've just recevied our booking confimation so will be off to France in July and Italy in August for holidays, woohoo! I can't wait. Like a lot of people, I look forward to them as a refresh and recharge, and of course, it's always nice to go somewhere new and sample the local culture. (Apparently, the Italians like to get dressed up for an evening stroll into town for dinner, or just for the walk, sounds good to me). We've also planned stopping in Monaco just for the one day, so no breaking the bank at Monte Carlo for me. It's just one of those places I see (mostly because of following F1), but have never been to so it's on my list. And yes, I've already bought another new bikini for the trip, lol. Nikki

About time too! Laser affects people differently, it hurts me, unlike electrolysis, which I find relaxing. Now though, I have reached the point where the laser can hardly be felt anymore, with the exception of my upper lip which still needs a good bit of treatment. There isn't so much there anymore but for girls like us, it is the most stubborn area to treat. Nearly there though, and hopefully will be totally hair free by the end of the year. At least what little there is now is easily hidden.I resist thinking about how much I have spent on these treatments, but it's an awful lot. However, without it, I could never have set foot outside, let alone be the girl I am today so that makes it worth every penny. Nikki

Yay! A four day weekend coming up, and in my case, two of them as I have a long weekend next week as well. I feel like I really deserve it too as work has been very manic and my feet feel like they have hardly touched the ground. i'm looking forward to getting some nice gentle retail therapy in and catching up with some friends. Not to mention a few outstanding jobs that I keep putting off.............Whatever you are doing this Easter, make sure you have fun!Nikki

I finally managed to get myself back into swimming again after about two years. The reason? Well, mostly because the pool changed their opening times which meant I now have time to go for a swim after I have given guitar lessons, or been to the gym, which takes up five evenings a week between them. It did feel nice to be able to stretch out in the pool though, and of course the jacuzzi afterwards is always a good place to finish for the evening. Wonderful!Nikki

Skiing was terrific as usual, I really enjoy it even though I may not have as much grace and style as those who grew up with it. My daughter also did really well in her first ski school and came second in her slalom race held on the final day of her course. I'm so proud of her and she can't wait to go again. It's still a crazy week though, I got back from skiing on Sunday, only to fly to the UK for a meeting on Monday, then this weekend I am off hiking as well, no rest for the wicked!! Nikki

Well, that was kind of weird reading about myself in the Tribune. I'm not the sort of person who likes talking about themselves much, I'm very private but in this instance it's a benefit to other girls to read about each others stories, at least I think so. It can be pretty interesting too. I think Mere has done a wonderful job with the Tribune over the last year, it's much more of a read now that it was before. i know it was hard for Katie to let go of vaious parts of TW but one person cannot run it all, and not give it 100% in every area, it's just too much work. I think time has shown that she made the right decision, she can keep overall control but someone else can 'run' various aspects of the site and the end result is a much smoother operation. Here's to the next twelve months.Nikki

As well as playing in a band myself, I also teach guitar, bass and drums to young people, and so I was very proud to be able to arrange to get three of my students to play the supporting band at a Christmas gig we did. They used our singer but are now actively looking for their own since they had a great time after the initial nerves. It was even arranged that a reporter from the local paper would do an artical on them. Fantastic. Their parents were very pleased with them as well and rightly so. Needless to say that they have been well and truly bitten by the 'playing live' bug and can't wait to get out again. We played a great gig ourselves afterwards and I think after our performance, their parents saw a different (and slightly mental) side of me!, lolNikki

It was a very nice break, in spite of the in-laws being around for far too long!! (I think we've earned our inheritance now, lol) The holidays were very relaxing and enjoyable and they didn't pass too quickly either which is nice. I couldn't get back to work today as the office suffered flood damage from a burst pipe so I'm having to work from home for the time being. It's also good to catch up here too. I haven't been on site for the holiday period so I'm sure I've missed loads. Sorry to all those who sent messages if it seems like I was really bad in replying. Everything is now back to normal though. So here is wishing you all the very best for 2010, the year is what you choose to make of it...........Nikki  x

It's one thing to have Jo in the UK (I miss her when she's away), but another to have to cope with the children while suffering from a two day migraine......not the best scenario I could have imagined I have to say. Just when you need a little TLC.............I heard from a friend of mine who is recovering well after her surgery, she's well enough for a visit now so I will be popping in to say 'hi' and to wish her and her partner a very merry Christmas as it's unlikely I will get to see them again beforehand, knowing how busy the run up to Christmas can get, and especially with family coming over. On the other hand, instant baby sitters! So maybe I will get there again after all. Nikki

My other half is in the UK this week so it's going to be a long slow week for me. I really miss her in the evenings, I don't like rattling around the house on my own, it's much nicer to share the evening with someone special. *sigh*At least I will be busy both at work and at home so that keeps my mind off of things and will hopefully make the time pass a little quicker.
