Thanks for your comments and ideas girls.  I really don't think that TW should become a sex site for tranny admirers.  I was only thinking of giving them a little more, perhaps in separate area.  Of course that could also mean that we will have more of them hitting on us so maybe it's not such a good idea after all. We could possibly set up a separate site for them.  Let me think about that one for a while. And thanks Karen.  We do have a little used donations page at: http://gendersociety.com/donations.shtml I also agree that our monthy memberships are costing us money.  Some people join for a month, download T-Log and everything else they can, then cancel. Maybe we'll take a look at losing monthly memberships for new members (existing monthly memberships would not be affected). It's always good to do a little brainstorming now and then so thanks for your ideas girls, and please keep 'em coming. Hugs, Katie (Supermodel)   x

Okay, so I don't write my blog as often as I should.  I have been very busy though, galavanting around the world being a top tranny fashion model (I wish). Today I've posted some pics from my recent photo shoot in Sydney in a new TrannyPix gallery.  I'm particularly pleased with them as Cyanne's wonderful makeover somehow made me look years younger. We have a full schedule of programmming things going on over the next week, including several new software modules for our Full Members to play with. Our new TrannyFriends feautre should be particularly popular, giving our girls the means to start their own friends networks with enhanced profiles and loads of other goodies too. We should also shortly have our new TrannyCards program which will allow our full members to send greetings cards to each other and anyone else they wish. We will need your help with this one though, because the cards that come this the program are a bit lame.  Therefore, we will need volunteers to get out their Photoshop and make some new tranny greetings card templates.  Perhaps we'll have a competition. We're still waiting for Eric to install Hubz and to reinstall Volano (the clubs chat room).  He inadvertently left it behind when we moved servers a few months back. There's still a list of things that don't work properly since the upgrade to Trannyweb version 5.2 but Eric is working through it (slowly). Our membership base is growing steadily but the number of Full Members who pay to keep Trannyweb going is still dismally low at less than 1% of the total membership.  This is an ongoing battle as our costs are rising but our Full Members numbers are not. One thing I've noticed is that many Full Monthly members cancel their membership after only one month.  They are usually admirers who are perhaps expecting some kind of sex site and who are disappointed when they discover that we are not anything of the sort. Having said that, I wonder if perhaps we should try to accommodate admirers a little more.  Maybe we should have some x-rated galleries they can plunder in an effort to bring in more business.  Just a thought.  I think that my modelling efforts have gone to my head.  If anyone is interested in providing some naughty(ish) pics, please let me know. Otherwise, if anyone can think of other ways we can raise some much needed funds, please let me know as my savings are running out! Hugs, Top Tranny Fashion Model Katie   x

Just thought  I'd break with the tradition of the monthly blog, just this time anyway. Trannyweb, my vocation, is now a two server affair.  In web site terms that makes us big (when you consider that most websites share a server with hundreds of others.  Only the likes of Google and Yahoo have more than one server (don't they?). The fact that we are growing is in no doubt.  However, I wonder if the expense will be worth it?  I've a feeling that a lot of the people who sign up with us are just here for a quick scout around and will never come back.  We have to address that because what we need is more active members. DigiChat is still being installed and integrated and I'm really hoping it will make a big difference to our fortunes.  The company installing it has taken about a week so far, even though they promised to have it and running within 24 hours. When they've finished, Eric will need to take over to integrate DigiChat into our environment, so it can be used with our membership database. We are very low on funds after the expense of the last few weeks.  In fact we are in the red.  In fact we've never been in so much debt since we started.  It is at least, controlled debt in that I have provided the funds and will not be in a huge hurry to call it in. However, it's going to take a long time to get all this money back again with just the occasional advertiser and a very small number of paid memberships. Somehow, we need to turn this thing around and I'm not sure how.  Perhaps we need to get a marketing company onboard, although that in itself could be difficult. In June this year, I wrote to Witeck Combs in Washington DC.  They're a big marketing company who have worked with the LGBT community before. In fact I wrote to them twice but they didn't even have the decency to reply. This is what we're up against.  If anyone knows of a big multi-national marketing company who might be willing to help us, please let me know. Perhaps in my next blog entry will be on a more upbeat note. Hugs, Katie   x

Writing my blog seems to be very munch a monthly affair.  We are still wrestling a bit with the new payment system although things seem to be setling down there.  Andrew has made countless improvements and it seems to be working okay now. We did have a huge problem with the server.  For the last few weeks it's been crashing almost every day.  Having tried everything to pinpoint the problem we have now opted for a new and faster server.  The whole site was transferred yesterday and today. As I write this blog entry, I am also paying for the video and audio version of Digichat, which I hope to have installed on our second server tomorrow.  Then we can finally lose ChatWeaver which has been rubbish right from tthe start. Our resources are totally depleted and we are very much in the red at the bank.  I lent the company some money to get us through this period because I still have faith and believe that if we offer a really good product, people will pay for full membership.  If we build it, they will come - I hope. Lots of people asked if we could offer a gold version of the Trannyweb pendant.  I had four made in 9c gold.  They cost me a fortune but now that I've got them, nobody seems to be interested.  Whatever next? Hugs, Katie   x

My last bogger posting was ten days ago and today we are no closer to getting out technical problems sorted out that we were then. I'm at the end of my tether with that Canadians (programmers that is).  They still have not installed the new chat room even though it's all paid for (including the installation and integration costs) and the new payment software which they've been working on for months is still not working properly. Now we have a new problem in that our server keeps falling over every few hours.  On average it's going over two or three times a day and I do not know why. Add to that the fact that our coffers are completely empty (although we did have three or four donations from the girls, I still paid for most of the chat room and other programming bills myself, from my own pocket).  It's going to take a very long time to get all that money back. It's at times like these when I really feel like just giving it all up.  I'm having a "triple low" day today and it's got nothing to do with PMT !

I sometimes feel as though I am banging my head on a brick wall.  I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most prolific blogger here and in fact my last update was on April 10th. I've just been looking at it and I'm amazed that I'm still working on the same things as I was then. Mainly it's our billing system.  It has taken an age to get this together and to install and just when we thought we were nearly there, I discovered that it wasn't working properly! However, it did work perfectly during our rigorous testing period.  It's as if the very act of setting it 'Live' and telling everyone to use it makes it go wrong. Andrew, who wrote most of the code, was off on Friday so I'll have to wait till tomorrow for him to work on the problem. I spent ages getting our TrannyStuff shop together but that does not seem to have been much of a success either.  I think we need more products and more advertising.  I'm very interested to get more electronic books onboard.  If you know anyone who has written a book on a tranny theme, please let me know. Our Trannyweb Girly Night Out in Manchester, UK, took place last Wednesday.  I turned up very late following a huge drive from the south of England and an appointment in Manchester (for which I was also very late).  My apologies. Otherwise, my failings aside, it turned out to be a great day and evening.  I loved driving and walking around Manchester dressed up like a dog's dinner and I think I passed.  Nobody gave me any funny looks or double takes.  That means I've won!  Hooray! Julie did a wonderful job of organising the whole thing and shepherding us from one venue to the next. Wearing heels for hours and hours did make my feet hurt a lot though.  By the end of the evening (about 3.45am) I could hardly walk (or was that 'coz I was drunk?). It's been suggested by several of the girls that we do it all again in Brighton.  I can't wait. Hugs, Katie   x

The new billing system is proving to be a real headache.  We just about had it working when Andrew and Eric went off for the Easter break.  Then I discovered that it doesn't work properly and they won't be back at their desks to help until next Tuesday!  Boo-hiss! The Cover Girl idea seems to have taken off.  I emailed about half the membership and had zillions of replies!  I think I've struck a chord! On Thursday, I spoke to a chap at Hubz about using their software on the site and he came out to me about having sex with a tranny!  I didn't know where to look!  Blush! There always seems to be something new going on at Trannyweb, most every day.  Today I've been looking at introducing another revenue stream.  At present we rely on membership subs and the odd banner advert for our tiny income.  There must be other ways of bringing in some pennies. I'm thinking about introducing a line of Trannyweb clothing and gifts.  We're talking about silly little things like mouse-mats and mugs, T-Shirts and Sweatshirts.  Every little helps. Now I'm going out for a walk.  I've been sitting at this computer for over ten hours and still have several hours work to do when I get back.  It's hard work trying to take over the world from a six foot desk! More soon.  Hugs, Katie :)

All the new ideas and software we've thought of and bought respectively are starting to come together now.  This site is huge and I don't mind saying that it is very hard work maintaining it. We still have problems with the billing system.  Andrew (Eric's colleague) installed the new recurring payments module a few weeks back.  It was supposed to enable us to take recurring payments and that would allow us to offer a monthly or quarterly membership level. However, it doesn't seem to work properly.  Until it does, we are a bit stuck and I'm now starting to fall out with Eric and Andrew over this.  Not good! I had an idea to put a Cover Girl on the front page.  I'm going to mail the whole membership to ask for volunteers. The Washington and London get-togethers are still on the cards.  Not sure what's happening with the Manchester night out though. I've got an idea for a much larger affair that would last several days and give the girls a chance to experience being a woman for a longer length of time as they'd stay in their female personas for the duration. That's still to come and would be a fundraiser for Trannyweb too. There's such a lot going on. Hugs, Katie :)

Tina B has very kindly written some help pages for the 'My Blog' and 'Post a new Message' pages which have now been put in place. I'll try to add to them as and when I get time.  I don't know what the problem was with the photo upload page but it seems to be working okay now as you can see from my posting below. There's so much going on.  I wish we could just get everything working properly so that I can concentrate on being a tranny rather than on technical issues. I'm quite pleased that there's been some interest in out Trannyweb Girls Night Out.  Perhaps we'll just make this one a low key affair, with just some of our regular girls.  However, I note that we have well over 600 registered members in London and around another thousand in the Home Counties.  Maybe we should be thinking about trying a night club evening. I'm still wrestling with the new messenger.  Stevie now has a copy of the bare-bones program (it's not very pretty) but we haven't had a chance yet to use it for chatting. There have been no very detrimental comments about the new chat room so far although that might change if we try to switch off the old room.  People always seem to favour what they're used to - change always seems to cause trouble. I'm waiting for Eric to reply to me about a load of problems I wrote to him about last week.  He is very slow and that's the worst thing about his company. I know he's busy and they have a big staffing problem but that doesn't help us.  Whenever they install new software for us, it invariabley contains loads of bugs or makes the server crash or both. When I try to get the bugs sorted it always takes forever to get anything done.  Even getting a reply to my email sometimes takes weeks. If I knew when I was first signing up with them what I know now, I would definitely have used a different company.  However, I did spend a long time researching community software on the web.  At the time there really were no other options that we could afford and I could not have known from the sales pitch that their after sales service and technical support would be so poor. On the memberships front, after a fairly brisk February our sign-up rate for March has been dismal with only one single new paying member ($19.99) so far this month.  That is just not good enough. So again this month, I'll be paying nearly all the bills out of my own pocket.  I'm not sure how long I can continue to subsidise Trannyweb. Anyway, this isn't getting the work done.  More soon...
