Peace to all.
Several things going on. I had a great interview last week with an insurance company. I used to be a Compliance Analyst years ago and, until the full-time academic job happens, I might go back into it. If this company offers me the job I will take it. I’d be stupid not to take it.
Then, on Thursday, I got a call from the Museum of Science and Industry. If you know anything about the World’s Fair of 1893 you’ll know that where this museum resides is the last building remaining from that event. Anyway, they want to talk to me this week about being a Program Interpreter. The pay is decent, too. I have to do a ten minute presentation on Thursday. Gee, I wonder if I could talk for a whole ten minutes? It might be a stretch for me.
I ran into my friend last week, the one with whom I lived when I got kicked out. We really patched things up and are back to our old friendship. However, he still cannot, and will not, understand what it means to be transgendered. But he has not turned his back. His eldest son doesn’t need his car anymore, so I’m going to take it. That means I am finally mobile! It will makes things so much easier with seeing my daughter, going grocery shopping to someplace other than the local store, going to school, etc.
But the big part of having this car is now it will be easier for me to get to the clinic to have my blood work done. I see the endo at the end of next month, and you know the drill from there – he’ll know what hormones to prescribe for me.
On Saturday my tour gig is having their Halloween party. I have already decided to introduce Meredith on that night. Sure, people will think it’s just a costume, but, as Lilienne pointed out, it will be a good way to get them ready to know about me. Jen Jen offered to help me with the makeup. That remains to be seen as I might have to work that day prior to attending the party.
This is going to be an interesting week.
Oh, by the way, did I mention Lexi? We had a great talk on the phone last night. She’s still not thrilled with me about my popcorn dinner from two weeks ago. But I do have a warm coat now!
