Okay, I could regale you with more museum stories. Like how, on the U-505, I scared an old lady so bad her false teeth almost came out. If everyone gets up to the aft torpedo room fast enough I demonstrate some of the sounds on board the boat, like the dive bell. Let's just say she wasn't quite prepared for them!
Yesterday I interviewed for an upgraded position in my department. I think I have a good chance of getting it. There are 3 of these spots open, and some of the others up for it do have seniority. It was nice to know I am appreciated there.
Last week I was given a commemorative coin. Someone filled out a comment card about me on the U-505, and not only did I receive this coin, my name will go up on the museum's wall of fame.
I have been looking for a new flat. I found one yesterday that has an incredible view of Lake Michigan. The thing is, I might have to really hide who I am there.
I am hoping Lexi gets up here this summer like we've been planning.
I am going on a six day work week now that my semester is over. With the extended summer hours starting on Saturday, it ought to be interesting to see my bank account doing a bit better while my body wears down!
