Wonderful weekend

Still getting my strength back from that great birthday weekend I had with Josie!

First of all, thank you to all you who wished me a happy birthday.  I appreciate it!

My plane was pretty much on time getting to Denver.  When I got tired of grading class papers on the plane I took to defacing the airline's magazines.  I haven't been that juvenile since......uh, two hours previous.  I could not wait to get off that plane and into Josie's arms.  When I saw her there waiting for me by the huge fountain in the airport terminal I once again realized how lucky I am to be with her.  We had some rain driving to her place, which made for a romantic night at her place.  We sipped white russians and then...............WELL.........

The next day we went to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science where I got in for free because of a reciprocal agreement with my museum.  What a wonderful place!  I loved it.  I also clicked into museum mode and almost started to discipline people goofing on exhibits.  We had a nice lunch there before heading back home.  We stopped at the grocery store where we picked up what I needed to make her my infamous spaghetti dinner.  She picked up a cake mix to make for my birthday.

We had a nice dinner and started watching some of the movies we rented.  The next day we went up into the mountains, which was wonderful.  Y'all know I have a fear of heights.  I was fine going up there, and being on the mountain, but the ride down was a bit scary as I was sitting on the passenger side, with the mountain slopes right next to me.  I got to see more of Denver and its surrounding areas.  What a great place.

You do realize I am leaving out certain details, right?  As if you couldn't guess.

That night I made us a tasty steak and baked potato dinner.  We watched an incredibly romantic movie - No Country for Old Men.  Girls, SEE THIS MOVIE!!!  The Coen Brothers do it again!

On Sunday Josie had to go to work for a while but was back in the morning.  That was fine as I had some editing work to do.  We had a nice brunch, then went to see her horse for a while.  I got to see how Josie trains horses, and it was great.  These others horses at the farm kept coming up to me to pet them.

The rest of the day we relaxed, spend more time in bed, and then made our way to the airport where we had a light dinner.  I did all I could to keep from crying when it was time to part, and it worked until just after I saw her face for the last time.  The flight home was pleasant and on time, and I was home by midnight.  I was so exhausted at work the next day.

THE BIG NEWS - Just before we went to the museum we went to the store where we bought promise rings for each other. In the car we exchanged the rings, and now we are making our future plans together.  We got a chance to get into TW over the weekend where we made it official.  Well, Lilienne already knew, but we made a general announcement in the chatroom.  We are taking our time with specifics as we are waiting to see what will happen with a few career moves and want to plan around those.  For now the plan is for me to move to Denver sometime in the future.  I could see myself working at that museum, and teaching at the area schools.

That's the short version of the weekend!  What a great time, and a great birthday present!
