After a month of furious work on my one book, I now have everything submitted to the publisher, and can now take about a week or two off from writing. I do have other projects I want to work on, but none with any pressing deadlines. Finally, some rest! Yes, I am still teaching two classes, and working at the museum, but now most of my evenings are free for myself.
Once the publisher reviews the materials, and any last changes are made, I get myself a nice little check. I will use some of that money for a long overdue trip to L.A. to visit Lilienne. When I told her we'll destroy civilization she simply said "In L.A.?" It is my hope Josie will be able to come with.
My kid turns 11 this Sunday. Her party is Saturday, and I am going over to my ex's house to help them out with getting ready. Three years ago this would never have been possible! While I will never get back together with my ex, nor do I want to, it is nice that we have finally re-established a friendship.
