As Inspector Gadgit used to say "Wowzers" I got control buttons...I'll have to test them to see what they all do. Now to the blog I wanted to send.

Things are not the same as they used to be. Things like coffee pots or rather coffee makers, wrist watches and garbage disposals.  Within the past month these three things broke. Could they be repaired -NO. What was the solution? Throw them away and get a new one. Replacement parts are not made for the coffee pot. The garbage disposal was sealed, no way to open it, so it had to go. The wrist watch is kaput -reasons unknown so it's bound for the trash heap.

Used to be that companies manufacturing these "household treasures" took pride in their work. Things were made to last. Not anymore. Take clothing, as another example, the workman (or workwoman)-ship is poor and overpriced. Oops - not overpriced- our money is inflated.

What's the solution. Bring back "cottage industry" but make it affordable to the buyer and maker. Maybe "quality" will be returned to the marketplace.

That's my speech for the end of 2009

    HAPPY NEW YEAR
