We had to change the name because the word ‘tranny’ became increasingly toxic and we had to change our rickety old software because the developers would no longer support it.
I vaguely remember we had asked the existing members to come up with a new name and Gender Society won. I think a lot of our members at the time wanted us to distance our community from the other cattle market sites out there so we needed to sound more respectable.Trannyweb was a busy and vibrant community though (started in 1999) with lots of people online at any one time. The forums were the jewel in the crown as you can see from the huge number of threads and forum posts (which by the way, are still available today).
The transition to The Gender Society took place in 2011. Unfortunately, a lot of the long-time regulars who used to be permanently logged in, didn’t like the change... less

Gender variant (trans or transgender) people are relatively rarely seen in GP surgeries. Many GPs say that they lack the knowledge to treat those experiencinggender variant conditions and, consequently, they are not confident to do so.The first part of this publication provides an overview of care for trans people that is particularly applicable to GPs. Hormone therapy is central to transgender primarycare, and issues such as assessment and diagnosis are also relevant to general practice. These topics are discussed in greater detail in Annexes C and D. Clinical care for gender variant people should be provided within a framework of good practice that emphasises patient autonomy, allows for the wide variety of needs among trans people and is flexible in its clinical responses to those needs. It should also take account... less

I just wished you were in the states to give such accurate content, but then under this current administration and political conflict I think you might find it quite egregious,
There was a time in the states when we were moving in a very positive direction, sadly we have faltered and at best stagnated our trans direction.

When Trannyweb became the Gender society I gathered a few people to become site moderators lovely helpful team, keeping the site clear of trolls, keeping the home page clear of sleaze and wiping out literally 1000's of spams. Shame that when I stepped back from heading up that team due to studying and work I was unable to devote as much attention as the site needed many of the site and forum mods just seemed to vanish, lose interest. I will always remember some advice Katie gave mewhen in the early days of being a mod, I was verbally abused, it upset me and I threatened to leave,Katie said if someone on your land line gives you grief, do you cut your phone off. The longer after puberty hormone therapy is started, the less effective it is--but not a linear scale, e.g., results are considerably more dramatic in an 18 year old than a 28 year old, but results are not on the average dramatically different between a 38 year old and a 48 year old.
The following effects have been observed in varying degrees--anywhere from little to moderate--with extended treatment. With effective and continuous dosages, most of the changes that a particular body is genetically prone to start within 2 to 4 months, will start leveling off somewhat within 2 years, and be mostly done within 5 years. The leveling may take longer if the testes are not removed. High levels of estrogen will cause faster development up to a point, but not better results in the long term than moderate levels of estrogen..
Fertility decreases. Sperm count drops rapidly. Sometimes it returns to almost normal if hormonal treatment is... less

My Pal and best buddy for quite a while during one of the most traumatic times in my life: SARAH CONOR. I miss her so much and would so love her to get in touch again. I still miss her even if i havent seen or spoken to her in so long. Every so often i wonder what she is doing? Is she happy? Did she ever reach her goal? Sarah i still got the pictures you took when you was modeling. they will remain with me until you claim them.
My good freind JULIE JULES. Who came from one of the Main ports in the UK. Julie. You was always on the edge but i loved you for that. Julie was one of those girls who was soft and sweet but in reality was military trained to take down anyone without breaking a sweat. You always felt safe when Julie was around.. I think i was one of the few who could actually keep her calm sometimes. Well i think i could i... less

Is it me or are they targeting anybody outside the NHS who handles trans kids? Also, some of the GMC charges are that he is unqualified in the field. Looking at his credentials he seems to have enough to satisfy. Even so. How do you become qualified in this field? If having 1600 patients doesn't make you an expert, what does?
This is another posting of the article:
I find the responses interesting. Is it me or are there a few negative mums getting on the band wagon? I mean, what mother would join a forum with the tag "Sexnotgender"? I get the feeling that a load of trolls have just signed up dummy accounts just to rant.

Firstly they need to be familiar with other posts I have made on inherited conditions, just because a person is born with a visible sex distinction, (genitalia) from which a determination of birth registration is made (sex @ birth) in the case of trangendered people this can be misleading. One has only to be familiar with conditions, for instance
Klinefelter's syndrome, 47, XXY, or XXY syndrome is a condition in which human males have an extra X chromosome.
Reifenstein's Syndrome, Most forms of AIS involve a variable degree of undervirilization and/or infertility in XY persons of any gender. A person with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) has a female external appearance despite a 46XY karyotype and undescended testes, a condition once called "testicular... less

Positive:+ Self adhesive back+ Natural feeling shape/material/look+ contoured back+ Excellent quality and presentation
Negatives :- Somewhat expensive- Adhesive not strong enough to go bra-less- Semi puckered nipple may not be to everyone's tastes
Overall:One of my better breast form investments over the years with excellent quality and a self adhesive back allowing for ore flexibility forwhat you wear under your clothes.
Review :I've owned a few forms over the years including a pair of Helena forms (attached with a triangular piece of velcro), a pair of Amolux self adhesive forms and severeal cheaper brands. I have large A cup natural chest size so finding forms that fit properly has been a bit of an dilemma. Pictures ina dvertisements I ahve found a bit misleading and trying to get the edges to disappear has never worked for me (especially on the tear drop and triangle shaped forms as the top edge/corner tends to stick up off my chest).

In most countries people start up a conversation, ''It is such a shame that people get so desperate, they resort to this type of thing, hope they are OK, such a shame, and OMG what will their families, feel''
In London the typical conversation is ''Some people are just inconsiderate bastards FFS jumping in front of a train, now I'm gonna be late for work'' less

At last, and I hope the police do get immunity from prosecution and lawsuits for compensation.
If someone is mugging me armed with a knife, a police person uses a taser to take down that thug and the thug dies of a heart attack, will I feel any remorse that I was partially responsible for his death? No. Should the police be made culpable, for not having done a risk assessment, enquiring into that thugs health circumstances and making sure he was not susceptible to violent electric shocks due to a heart condition? Could the same be said for the same person being chased down the road fleeing an assault, stabbing, and suffering a fatal heart attack due to over exertion or stress, of course not.
Already the snowflakes are saying knocking robbing knife wielding thugs of their bikes could be tantamount to assault, resulting to criminal charges of ABH or GBH being... less

Karen White, according to reports hadn't even begun to transition prior to her incarceration, being transferred to a woman's prison upon her/his own declaration.
The prison authorities have the duty to establish a trans claimants genuine status, for that person's safety, well being and the protection of that person and other detainees. Is it political correctness, gone mad or just plain incompetence that they keep getting it so wrong?

I have been a TV since I was five and love wearing women's clothes and doing what we though of as women's work for as long as I remember. However, I am not transgender and don't want or need to become a woman full time, My problem is that I have joined a woman's forum and absolutely love chatting to the girls and women there and they think I am a woman. I am not there as a Tranny but as a woman and I hate myself for lying to them although I don't or haven't made the statement that I am a GG. I love our chats and I love being a women with the but shoud I continue? less
