Yesterday evening I was for hours in alert at job. Our planning board started their meeting at 5.30PM and I was called to present my job at 8.30PM. I talked maybe some 10 - 15 minutes, started with a joke "I try to be as short as possible". Short means in finnish also the size of a person, as you know I´m far over 6 feet tall...Had a bit ramp fever, but I guess it went okay. They were very interested in the competition program I had prepared and asked many questions. The board consists of politicians from all political parties from right to left. On the right wing there are people from christian democrats and "basic finns". Basic finns are a bit minorityphobic. On the left wing there are no socialists in this city, but the greens. The greens are very minority friendly and they even had once one ts-lady among them.
Now the ice is broken...I lost my fears. The next time will be a lot easier.
