On Saturday, the Baltimore Gender Identity Group, Hearts and Ears, Transwomyn and the H.E.R.O. TS support group participated in Batimore's Pride Day parade. There were about 8,000 people in attendance, and it was most encouraging to see pretty much the entire Baltimore transgender community out in the streets supporting the cause of LGBT solidarity. Despite the obvious distinction between the transgender and gay communities, it is important to note that our social goals of acceptance, tolerance and discrimination in public accomodation, employment and housing are identical. I would encourage our American members to get out there and support the Pride events in your hometown. Not to mention, it was a great party!
