Summertime-Any tips on TG needs?

  • Hi All,
Last week I got my 1st swim suit and was elated at how I looked in it. However, the practical side of going out in the hot sun and other issues made me ask - Do my TW sisters have any helpful hints on passing in the summer?

    Questions such as:

    1. How do you keep your stuff "down there" from popping out from a swim suit? (wish I was far enough along that this was a non-issue).

    2. When filling out the top of a swimsuit, I can position my natural breasts to create the illusion of cleavage, along with some silicon enhancers. However, they slip back to their normal position. Any hints on making them stay in place?

    3. For those of us who need to wear makeup, is there any brand that stands up to the summer sun and doesn't either melt or look like it was caked on?

Any tips you might have for going out in the summer are definitely appreciated!!!

    Hugz from a TW SIster,

  • Hi!

I don't know a direct answer to question number one but I always found tucking to be a non-problem since you can almost always wear clothes that make it unnecessary. On the beach, I used to wear a beach skirt in the same fabric as the swimsuit. I googled beach skirt just to find an example and here is one: http://www.smallest-bikin[...]arent=7
Hides everything and I think it looks great too.

Can't help you on question number 2, never wore a bikini before I had breasts that needed covering up.

About makeup and melting.. I'm no makeup specialist by any means but I think it's liquid foundation that cause the melting effect. When in the sun, your pores will open up and you will start to sweat and that sweat will mix with the foundation and it will "melt". At least I guess that's what happens.
Try using a mineral based foundation instead, I use "i.d. bareMinerals" which works fantastic for me (even mom started using it after I recommended it) :) . I think it has a sunscreen factor of about 20 or something too...
If you use a mineral based foundation, there is nothing that can "melt" although you will of course still get sweaty and your face will get shiny from it but hey, that's what it's like to be human. :)

  • Hi,
it's not clear what sort of bathing suit you've lashed out on.What I've done- and I haven't got around to pool-testing it yet- is to buy one a size smaller than I'd otherwise buy and that has underwired cups which hold the 'falsies' reasonably well in place.A couple of spots of a suitable adhesive should help as well.I've also avoided those models which require a pronounced cleavage. No point in running before you can walk.Don't forget that the 'three-piece suite' will shrink when you're in the water and any necessary readjustments that need to be made before you come out can be made whilst you're still in the water.No-one will see what you're up to- unless they're snorkeling(!).Just to be on the safe side I would however refrain from swimming butterfly
or doing fancy dives off the high board...................

She was afraid to come out of the water............................;)

    Have fun

  • Hi Michelle,

    1. There are lots of threads on this issue already and you can still wear a gaffe made out of hosiery under your costune. I have also found that having a pattern on the swimsuit/bikini helps to disguise any slight mound you might be left with. Or you can buy one size smaller in bikini bottoms, that helps too.

    2. I keep my boobs in place using medical adhesive and a good fitting costume, and have not yet had a problem. I also chose tops that covered everything well enough too.

    3. Like you, I need to wear make up and use 'Dermablend' as a base since it is waterproof and doesn't come off very easily at all, even when wet or sweating. Everything else is Max Factor who make a decent range of waterproof eye liners, eye shadow and lipstick etc. It holds out pretty well in the heat too. But I really haven't had any difficulties with their regular items that a quick trip to the ladies and a mirror can't put right.

    Good luck

  • Lots of great ideas already posted Michelle. I usually wear a bikini, the bottom maybe a size smaller to hold things in place. Koala had a great idea with a skirt or Nikki's busy pattern to camoflauge any remaining bump.

I don't mean to brag but I can fill out the top portion of a bikini so i'm not sure how they work with forms. a one piece is always an option.

Personally I think makeup sucks, especially greasy type stuff. I'm with Koala on the mineral makeup. I have recently discovered Maybelline's Mineral makeup line and love it big time. I can definitely attest to it holding up because I live in one of the hottest, highest humidity regions, in the U.S. I first use a regenerist type moisturizer, then a sunscreen designed for the face, I give that time to soak in then I apply the mineral powder foundation which gives you medium to full coverage. I finish off by topping it with a mineral translucent powder.

  • I really do not have a good answer for tucking but i have heard the gaf thing works well all be it a little painful.
As for tops mmmm tape i hear works as long as you do not swim. ......... Dang i am so glad i never had to do any of that.
And when i get hot i am going to get the smallest ever bikini i can find.
As for makeup try ths bare minerals foundation .......if you are not really dark haired you will not need anything else under it. Then a good spay sun screen sprayed on lightly a couple of times.

You go beach girl Yeah for the sun

  • Hi Everyone,

Isn't it great to have sisters you can ask for advise from!!!!!!! Thank you for your tips!

I took Nikki's advise and made a gaffe from an old pair of pantyhose and it works great!.

For makeup, I am going to make an appointment at the local bare essentials to have my makeup done using their mineral based makeup.

BTW: my swimsuit is a 1 piece for now. I've lost 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks, and have a overall target of losing 20 lbs. Once I reach that, I'll reward myself with a 2 piece swimsuit. Perhaps by the end of june.

Again, Thank you my TW sisters for your advise and wish all of you a great summer!!!

    Hugz,
    MichelleLynn
