Maybe the boss was comtemplating surgery themself and was to scared to ask straight out what the results were like ? lol

I think I would have asked "arent you a bit old to want to play a game of I'll show mine if you show me yours?"

    Ladies--

As a temp, I've seen/heard/been asked a lot of questions. (Yes, in fact I AM a Kelly Girl.) I have been treated pretty well at times, and pretty poorly at others, because of who I am. But this takes the cake.

I hope she wins this case big time. Like in the millions of dollars. (Or at the very least, minimum for porn shots. After all, that's what they were asking for, right?) I can't believe, in this day and age, that someone in management could be so crass and tacky. A doctor's note--notarized, if need be--is more than should be requested.

    I guess that's why it's called "Man"power--

    Luv 'n hugs,

    Mina

Thanks lyn, I think that goes in the file marked: You Couldn't Make It Up!

The perfect antidote to the main article was, in my view, the added comment by Marlene re her drivers licence photo...

    Hi Lynn,

Whenever it seems that maybe humans are evolving into intelligent beings, something like this pops up. Truly horrible.

    Best,

I'd love to say 'unbelieveable' but unfortunately it isn't. I loved Kristin's comments though about it being the others in the locker room who have the problem, not the transperson. Every credit to her. As several others mentioned as well, just install some privacy booths and surely that goes some way to alleviating the issue. At least those who have a problem with it can use one of those.

I'm glad she's suing, how can she lose? Hands up all those who have, or know someone who has had to show a photo of their genitals to keep a job, other than in the porn industry?

Kinda reminded me of the time I declared myself at work (a couple of jobs back). I was asked, so duly started to described the surgery I would be having. About halfway through the guys (all male bar one) decided they had heard enough, and for some reason I was never asked again.

It does serve to remind us of the ignorance of the masses, and how they still equate physical attributes with gender and sex and orientation.

Or maybe the employer just wanted a quick flash?

I think I would have done two things in that situation:

    1. Require their request in writing with the signature of the supervisor and a company officer on it.

    2. After acquiring #1, tell them that they can have a picture of my genitalia after they give me a photo of their (supervisor and company officer) wife/girlfriend's genitalia. Also inquire as to whether they will be requiring such photos from all female employees or if they are just discriminating against trans employees.

When they object, point out that you feel exactly the same about their request to see "my pussy". Do they mind if you tell their wives their husbands/boyfriends want to look at "my pussy". Do they mind if you contact the newspapers/Television stations with the story?
