I have the camcorder and plugged it into the computer. It did work for some time as I was able to get files on my vista but now it seems that I am not able to get any files no matter in vr or video format. I do have windows movie maker but have lost the access to that program. I can call it up but I can not do anything as no files show up.

You might need to download a reader. Go to the site of who ever mae the camera. Look for downloads.
