  • You also noticed that!

(Someone called Jan appears to own the site, and 'bo' is in the username...coincidence?)

  • As it happens the owner is in fact a very dear friend of mine !! - In fact she actually designed one of the dresses with me in mind as she knows only too well, the problems I constantly have trying to find elegant clothing that actually fits me and more importantly makes me look like a beautiful woman . I, in turn was spreading the word, only because I absolutely love all these garments and I know other people would too ! I was only trying to help others.

As regards 'bo' in the user name, no secret and indeed no coincidence - my beautiful german shepherd is named 'Bo' after Bo Derrick, in the film '10' . My friend loved the name, loved my dog, loved the film and loved the actual meaning of the word Bo.

You should look it up !

  • Is one of the amazing ways to wear a dress having it pulled up over the head? Its how all the boys seem to want it.
Just an ordinary girl finding her way in this strange life. - What will it take to get everyone to realise that everyone else is also a human being that deserves just as much respect? - How does someone tell their doctor they have hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia? - When I was a student I specialised in Alcopology. It always starts with Alco and always ends with pology. - Waiter! There's a hare in my rabbit pie!

Janet if you had said that your post might still be there.
Also you posted it the same day you joined the site. It kind of looks like you only joined so that you could post an ad.
That might not be the case. If not you might take a look around. You might like it here & you are more than welcome to join in.

  • This is always an issue. Is it a grab for free advertising or a helpful hint from a sister? It involves weighing the benefit to the poster, the commercial group, the community and the GS website. Often I find myself forced to consult Katie first. Today I ran a BBC NEWS article in the TG NEWS FEED because I felt it both gave a positive image of the TG community and provided a service in a location that could benefit many of our UK members who attend SPARKLE. The interview in the article was my deciding factor to treat it as news instead of advertising. Any benefit to the business from a short-term post was, in my opinion, richly deserved. These are the points we must look at when deciding whether or not to let commercially-related posts stand. We do not immediately kill all but the most blatant advertising attempts. Even those often get referred to the link for advertising on www.gendersociety.com. [NOTE: Blatant free-advertising post :-)]

  • In this instance, I have to go with Karen.

If an intro had been posted and the link included that would have been acceptable.

But to post what certainly appeared on the surface to be an advert for one's own site with no explanation and on the first day of joining did give the wrong impression.

Just to touch bases, as you can see, I did delete the original post and thank you Karen and Sue for bringing it to my attention.

Thank you as well, Wendy, dear, for your thoughtful post clarifying what's what as far as product placement and so on. I hope you're doing well.

@ Penny, over the head? Hon, I didn't know you wore skirts or dresses that long. Just teasing, girl, at least none of mine are that long.<lol>

    Dear Janet-

Please don't misunderstand or take offense, you are very welcome here as are endorsements and information about products that might be of interest to members of the group. Please, if you don't mind, contact me through an email and give me some more information about the site and about yourself and we can go from there. I sincerely hope that you'll not be upset and will remain as a member, once again, you are very welcome here.

    Hugs...Joni Mari
