The venue at Fieldens has changed along with the managing of the club.... Previously managed by the owners, it no longer appears to cater to the LGBT community, having some problem with patrons expressing themselves as to who they are....
I went one night in June this year and was treated as though I was less than a person and was mocked by the new staff.... I left shortly after arriving.... It was suppose to be a private, after hours club for charter members in the LGBT community and transgender friendly people.... I can't say allowing these new managers of the club to treat its members was intentional by the owners but it does appear likely.... The on line web site has also been shut down since I last checked.... Its hard to believe that the owners, being both openly gay, would stoop down to this because it was a great place to go to in the past.... I was very disappointed at this turn of events and the step backwards in our strife to expressing our true selves....

Thank you for the update, Denise. Nothing is static in life. It's good to have more recent experiences to measure by.

Richmond is an awfully unfriendly place for the TG community...I go to "Babes" in Carytown to meet others or have a drink when I wish...mostly lesbian, some gay, and I often see a lot of CD/Tvs in their "splendid attire"! LOL Best part is that they do not "out me" as I pass there really well...I enjoy the "safety" of it and especially like getting checked out by the lesbian girls as I'll usually dress down for the occasion...LOL
Fieldens is no longer a cool place...
