    Hello girls,

Following on from my posting of the chat room hostess and user guidelines recently, Nikki Hollm has asked me to post the Forum Moderator guidelines here in the General Forum, so that our members can see what the mods job involves and perhaps as a little reminder for our mods. They have always been available in the Mods Forum.

Before going any further, please let me say that our forum mods do a great job and we would be lost without them. Thanks girls - your help in running this place is really appreciated.

Now, here as promised, are the forum mod guidelines...

Here in a nutshell, is what it's all about:

    Attitude
The attitude you should adopt is much like that of a receptionist at a good hotel. Please remember that our members are our customers or guests and we need to treat them with great courtesy at all times.

One or two of our mods have in the past adopted a police-like attitude - this is completely wrong. We are not here to be forum police - we are here to help our members and to stimulate more posting in the forums.

We must always be nice, smiley, happy and friendly people who are always happy to help our fellow trannies (and SO's and admirers).

    ***********

Forum Moderators should keep an eye on their respective forums, looking out for new postings and should then reply if appropriate, giving advice if necessary.

Please don't get out of your depth though. If you don't feel qualified to give advice on a particular subject then please don't. There are plenty of people around and between us we have experience in just about every area.

Remember the first rule of journalism which applies here too:

If in doubt - leave it out!

    ***********

Encouraging people to post more frequently is also important. That means posting new and interesting topics that will get people thinking, talking and posting.

Get your creative juices flowing girls!

    ***********

Please be very careful not to post anything that is likely to seen as belligerent though or anything which is likely to prompt a negative response. One thing we certainly do not want in our forums is hostility.

As you may know, members who use our forums to fight in public are dealt with very severely and are often thrown out. We can not afford to get a poor reputation in this area so we can not allow this kind of behaviour.

    ***********

And just a couple of quick notes for our SuperMods...

    What is a SuperMod?
A SuperMod has all the same powers that a Forum Moderator has, but is able to use them in all of the forums.

In addition, Supermods can do a few other clever things too, like transferring threads to other forums if they are not in the appropriate place. for example, if you see a technical question being asked in the General Forum, you could put that in the Technical Support forum.

    ***********

Hiding and deleting posts and threads
If you feel that a post or thread needs to be deleted or hidden, please do not act on your own. We have agreed that posts and threads shoulds not be completely deleted because this destroys the evidence if we need to take things further or if we need to check back again. Instead, threads and posts that we want rid of must be "hidden".

Secondly, we have agreed that no one mod will have the power to hide a thread on their own and that three mods will have to agree before this is done.

So, if you really want to hide a thread, please seek the approval of two other mods before doing so.

    ***********

Thanks and hugs - your help is really appreciated.
