    Hi all.

Whilst sifting through a ton of unfiled paperwork I found a piece of verse I'd written some time ago. May be three, four years ago perhaps and long since forgotten. It's a little melancholy, a little quirky but sort of interesting in it's own way. Just wish I could remember what the heck the reason was I wrote it! I think - and it's only my faulty memory here - that I had in mind an ex-boyfriend who passed away late 1999 in an accident...

    Listening.

    I hear you.
At the end of the phone.

    I feel your emotion.
    You're empty, alone.

    It's not easy being human.

We like to think we're self-contained,
    Strong and filled with love.

    Not love's remains.

But sometimes it's all that's left,
    And we crash.

    It's frequent in todays world,
Where stress is fire and fire burns.

    How do you feel?

I hear your voice and it sounds like tears,
And I struggle to be apart, to listen,
And try to impart what little I can.

    But I can listen.

    I understand how it feels,
    Your soul is torn,
    It'll never heal.

    ['though one day it will]

    How do I feel?
Drained, I guess, but I try.

It's what any person would do.
