Jeeeeze, I'm realy sad, WTF has wars and a you did this and we did that, got to do with the position we find ourselves in. Don't we get enough strife out in the street. without laying guilt trips and inuendos on each other, its sunk to the level of my dads bigger and better than your dad, when the truth is my dad was an out and out bully, Kicking me half to death, when I was 12 years old. Utopia does'nt exist, irregardless of where you come from, sh it happens. This site is sposed to unite us with a common bond, I was about to pack it in, all over an ill advised comment, Then suddenly A lovely heart rendering post of support from the USA. plus Katie posted, why do you get upset over a comment from one person and then punch me, Lots of us dedicate a lot of time to this site, trying to put something back, not for any rewards, not even for praise. Lets think for a moment, will Katie get to the point, ''Bolloxs is it worth it''?

The amount of time and effort she puts in and I know for a fact a considerable amount of her own money goes back into this site. I'm not saying, if someone insults you directly or makes derogatory remarks one should not comment, but lets not make this a great divide over one persons or two peoples inane and destructive comments. Remember if you sink a ship, you might get the one dissident, but you will destroy 1000's of innocents. Remember the story of King Herod, the slaughter of the innocents? I had an issue with one person, I did not make it an us and them thing, it was resolved amicably on a one to one basis. A mascot, Perhaps two hands joined across a globe, demonstrating a unity a common cause. I have found it is bloody painful falling of a high horse.. The only winners are those who stand around laughing and have never had the guts to get on a horse. ... thats an analogy.

The people that post those us vs. them remarks are to small minded & ill informed to be taken seriously.
So I give them all the attention they deserve. NONE!!
Bickering with small minded people is a waiste of time.
Ignore them & they'll go away.

I've been guilty of playing in the mud lately. That stops now. I'm really sick of things around here. What upsets me more is how many girls here I admire and I think it's fair to say that I'm friends with. The cool thing I think is how many awesome girls I've met from other countries. Also, it's been a wonderful treat to get to know some of you ladies who dress part time. So, I will NOT participate in CD vs. TS debates (always seemed like a silly argument to me) and I won't participate in US vs. UK debates. I've never run down another country but from this point on, I will not defend the US. Mods here have showed me time and time again that they are on top of this so I pledge to let them do their jobs. Besides, although it feels great right after I post something like that, over time I begin to feel spiteful and petty and that's the best reason I can think of to stay out of the muck.

BTW, I ran across a very funny map of the world from the perspective of California and normally would have posted it. But at this point, I think it would just be adding gas to the fire.

  • I feel for your frustration Crissie. Let’s hope people can learn to accept each other’s differences and in turn learn to provide opinions that are formulated to suit their lives without trying to affect other people and their lives.

I have come to learn that what makes a multi-cultural environment successful is for people to learn to accept that different people may have different perspectives, believes and ways of living and that no one has the right or freedom to take that away from anyone else. The only time an opinion is wrong is when that opinion affects how someone else lives and enjoys their freedom. Least we can be thankful that we no longer have slavery and discrimination is illegal like making black and white people sit in separate areas and that we have the freedom to wear the clothes we want. Let’s be thankful we live in a civilised society free from undeveloped and ignorant ways of thinking, well, for the majority anyway :)

Does a nice person ridicule or persecute another?

Maybe we can start debates expressing our opinions without attacking eachother. After all, aren’t we all members of the human race?

Inflammatory posts like the ones you are referring to, have no place in our forums. I make no apologies about removing them and in future, persistent offenders will be asked to leave.

Imagine the kind of first impression our new members get when they see this kind of thing going on!

I do know however, that those who insist on posting unhealthy seditious messages are very few in number. The majority of us want forums where we are free to post our thoughts without being jumped on by others for the slightest reason. Well, that's what we are aiming for from now on. In future there will be zero tolerance here for people who insist on causing trouble.

    Now, play nice girls.

    Hugs, Katie x

  • Most of them start out like some silly, bun fight at a wedding and don't realy get out of Hand until someone throws the wedding cake,
What more can I say. Unfortunately I do feel somewhat responsible for hiding two rather antagonistic posts in my own law forum.. When the general consensus seemed to be that I should have just suspended the thread, leaving the two offending posts as constant reminders of what I perceived as bad feelings likely to cause further resentment and more negative comments.. In future I will seek advice from the more experienced mods.

    Cris,

There are people here who really have to examine their reasons for what they write and what they do. You are NOT one of those people. You should really stop second guessing yourself. You haven't done a damn thing wrong.
