Last week I mentioned in another post that I had ordered some women's athletic shoes from Shoebuy.com. My feet are large, size 13W. Madeleine Grant expressed interest because she is the same size. I thought I would post a couple photos to show her how they look, and I thought others might be interested as well.

As far as fit goes, my first impression was that the toes were a little tight. This is my first pair of women's athletic shoes, so I am unsure how the fit is different from men's. However, after a full day of wear, I didn't notice any tightness at all.

Well I'm a size 13, but I think my feet may be a little narrower than a 13W. It depends a little on the style and make of the shoe, and sizes are crazy. Thanks for posting Sami : )
I'm not sure when I'll get them, but I'm really looking forward to my first pair of girly athletic shoes!

Shoes are like clothing.  Shoes are made on lasts that vary from one maker to another.  A famous ballet shoe maker changed it's lasts some years ago to fit public, not dancer's feet, for profit reasons.  I always recommend, if you can not/ will not try shoes on in a store and walk around in them, to start with inexpensive PAYLESS SHOE SOURCE shoes from theiir online website.  They give length and width measurements with each size for both normal and wide shoes and for male and female shoes.  This means you can go into a store, try on men's shoes (during their many sales) and find which size fits you best.  Then, go home and go online and compare your size measurements to the women's chart to find which size matches your men's measurements and that is your basic women's flat size.  You may find that sandles  and heels fit slightly different.  You may find, as I did, that one size was too small and the next size up was too big.  There are inserts/ low-profile socks that can help you get the too-large shoes to fit well.  For example my men's size 11 translates to women's size 12.  "Wait", you say, you are supposed to go up 2 sizes from your male size.  This is often a good rule of thumb but NOT for Payless shoes.  There I find 1 size up is a better rule of thumb.  Lasts, remember.  Switch brands and you need to make new rules.  Keep a notebook with a page for each brand and how they fit.  Here, you may buy online and go up 2 sizes to start and mail them back if you find they do not fit you and adjust your next pair accordingly.  They do not mind.  They want to make you happy.  Did you know women buy a lot of shoes?  No, really!  You might even ask them for the measurements of their shoe sizes.  I have asked companies to clarify anomalous size chart issues and they responded very quickly.  Yes, Payless does tend to black and less so to brown, white, silver and gold and they are expanding their color range.  Some styes I can not afford all the colors of one style I would like to own and do not have room to store them.  It is a lot more shoes than I ever had before and they FIT me...even boots.  There are places that will custom make shoes to your foot even different sized left/right feet.  These tend to be relatively expensive but is $100-200 too much to spend on that special pair of shoes that fit perfectly, last a lifetime and have 5" heels that will never break under a big girl's weight?  Cost per wear.

Be sure to check sites you might normally never check because they are "sissy" sites or BDSM.  They often have custom shoes/boots of good quality.  With effort I have found sites that produce good shoes to match that special outfit.  It does happen.  I have seen outfits in catalogs I loved and then walked into a store and found the exact outfit in the exact color with a top and skirt of different sizes that fit me perfectly.  A couple months later I found a white and black sequin gown that fit me perfectly.  Mae West, eat your heart out.;  Thrift shops often get in fine quality outfits in

different sizes at a price that you can  buy two to get an outfit that fits you...and donate the remainder back or to another Tgirl.  If you learn to use a search engine well, mine was Google but I switched to DuckDuckGo because of privacy issues, you can find a lot.  Telling the search engine what NOT to include is an underrated search skill.  If you are searching for military bases, telling it "-baseball" will greatly reduce the number of useless hits you get.  -xxx and -pics can do the same with porn sites.  However, -slut may keep you from a site that ALSO carries naughty jewelry but has some good quality clothing.  Long gloves to match a formal gown can be found on BDSM sites, for example.  Retro parties/dances are often held at TG events/conventions.  Larger retro clothes can be found at Rockabilly sites.  Ok i digress.  We were discussing shoes.  Guilty again, mea culpa.
