Culpepper's mother is filing a lawsuit against the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles as a result of this incident.

the transgender boy regularly wears cosmetics and female-associated clothing as a part of his daily life (and I must say, he looks beautiful!).

It is wonderful that such trans-positive coverage is growing in the media.  The writer was clearly sympathetic but... SHE  not he.     GIRL not boy.  Good try, Jessica Cruel, you are out in the front of the pack.  We understand your confusion but you did the equivalent of my referring to you as a sympathetic "colored" journalist.  That would embarrass me.  Embarassed  Just writing that sentence did.  I remember the 50s and 60s clearly.  That is where we are now.

I had to learn this material and still am learning.   Society has created binary rules in a world that is not binary.  Most LGBT  issues appear throughout the animal world.  The other dairy cows in a herd are raving lesbians (or is it transbulls) when one is in heat.  They will try to mount a fence post...or an unaware "cowgirl".

The community does appreciate your efforts and your good heart.  I am sure you realize there are some of us who are sensitive.  The "boy" in question is a transgirl, almost old enough to be called a transwoman.  We would refer to her as a girl not a boy.  Gender is all in the head.  With knowledge comes understanding.  With understanding  it becomes easierWe disagree and get confused at times. Trying to be trans-sympathetic and get your story across to an undeducated public must be a difficult task when attempting to avoid confusion in the reader's mind.  It can be hard enough here at The Gender Society.

Feel free to contact us or visit us at any time if we can be of assistance to you.  Our website is open to all who wish to learn or support the trans community.    Our friends, like you, are always welcome.  I did like the  article by the way.
