So I got these nice Mary Jane pumps from Zappos with a 4" heel only to find out that my ankles don't flex enough to stand up straight! Too bad - So sad. Any thoughts, ladies?

I don't want to say this, but you may have to wear flats,....forever. I sprained my ankle five years ago and it is not healing and the surgeons say there is little hope. So, I wear nice flats, but I soooo enjoyed my high heels, and my derrier looked so much better when I walked.

Well, I've since obtained ankle hight boots with a three inch heel (Soft Style, a Hush Puppies Co) from Zappos and they are very, VERY comfortable and supportive.  AND I can walk in them!
