Let me show you some hypocrisy in action.
House Republicans have passed a measure that would
prevent trans athletes competing in women's sport in schools and universities that receive public funding. This is the "Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act." The Biden administration has said that it will veto the measure, so it has no chance of becoming law – but it shows you what Republicans think. They say "men shouldn't be able to compete in women's sports." Well, these are not men, they are trans women, and as the Democrats point out, the measure will further incite hatred against trans youth.
So the Republicans support women's rights, yes? Actually no. The policy is in stark contrast to the Republican attack on women's rights across the USA, specifically a woman's right to decide whether to proceed with a pregnancy or terminate it.
For the Republicans at least, America is a country run by and for the rightwing Christian male minority. The best longterm hope for progressives is the demographic trend which will reduce the minority even further.
