yep its official, today i recieved my documentation of my change of name. I am so happy it is unreal, now begins the task of letter writing and informing the departments that need to know.........love one happy JULIE xx

but now the work begins. I had mine legally changed in May and when I think I have finally got everything along comes the mail and someone else to correct! But I tell you its the most fun you'll ever have with paper work. I have had some very confused people ring to confirm what I have sent them!

The name is VERY important to your self esteem. When people treat you as Julie it reflects back to your indentity, backing it further up. I noticed a huge change in my own identity after the name change. It is very hard to take yourself as a woman if your environment thinks you are a man.

Well...regular people tend to determine your gender according to you sex: "You are male....just look what you´ve got between your legs". It is absurd in many cases, but that´s how the majority thinks.

Thanx Fiona and Joni infact all of you, Laura and Sandra my mum and dad still call me by my male name!!!! Maybe thats because i haven't told them yet and thats the hard part, trying to work out the best way to put the subject. I have kept the family surname so that me ease things a little, still we shall see.....hugz Julie xx
