    Hi Christina

I visited my doctor last Monday suffering from gout. He noted my pink toenails when he examined my foot with the result that a 10 minute consultation ended after 40 minutes. He is now arranging for me to see a psychiatrist specialising in gender matters. My doctor is also willing to have me change my name so that i can atend the surgery as June.

Hope all goes well for you - by the way I'm unemployed as well at present.

    June xx

You look lovely if they are your own piccies. Don't worry about it . If you read my own thread you will see that uncertainty and inside problems will arrive in turn. You will be a gorgeous woman, and an example to all of us one day so do what you think is right .xx

I should have added that I saw my doctor again a week later when he told me that he had spoken to the psychiatist about me. Now all I have to do is wait for that appointment.
A couple of other things - I now have a female calling name at the health centre (hence the change of name on here) and always go there dressed now, even if it's only to collect a prescription - the doctor also told me that you could go straight on to hormones once the psychiatrist says that you are gender dysphoric but it does vary between health authorities.

    So I'm now waiting.

    Hi Christina-

Welcome to the group, dear.<big hug> Good for you on choosing to follow the path your heart tells you you need to follow. As to practical advice on transitioning I haven't much to relate personally but I know there are many, many members here who can. You've come to one of the best places on the web for help, advice and encouragement. Best of luck, Christina.

    Hugs...Joni

I'm starting to explore being a TS as well. I start seeing a new therapist next week, and believe me, that will come up. I have already told two people that I wonder about it. I liked my former therapist, but since she doesn't take my insurance I couldn't afford to pay her out of pocket.

Like Sandra said, there is time. I'm going to use mine alone right now to seriously consider what I really am.
