    Congratulations girl
the first step is the biggest
hopefully only good feelings from now on
    and your parents come around
mine did not, but I am happy living without them
you have a good support network here, use it as much as you can and want to

    doctors are slow every where,
some times you have to push them to do something or even to see you,
my friend in Wales has waited over year to see some gender Specialist and
sunk to giving up because of it,

i just think it is sad we have to be forced to wait, again, for treatment in some places when we have already waited a life time

good luck with the next step and all the best

This seems to vary from bank to bank Paula since some people have been issued a card in their femme name with no problems. I was advised that it isn't the name on the card that is important, but the health of the account. I am just about to apply for one myself so I'll let you know how that goes.

    Hi Paula-

I just wanted to join in with the others in wishing you the best of luck. Good for you, girl. As to your bank, they may have rules, as you mentioned, that they must run a credit check on your female name and since you probably don't have credit established in that name, they may use that as grounds not to set up an account One possible solution is to have checks printed with both your male and female names on them. That is what a t-girl I know did. Then once the account was established she had cards issued for each name and just uses her female one. I gather you really don't want your male name showing at all, but it is one possible, hopefully temporary, solution.

    Best of luck, Paula.

    Hugs...Joni Marie
