i told my wife on our first night out (dont know why) she didnt take it to well but over the years she has gradually got used to it and now she helps me buy all my cloths and is just about to start goingt on nights out together

You are really lucky hon. I am in a similar situation but I wish I had told my wife a lot earlier in our relationship. It can be a real help and also it stops the feeling of resentment on their part when they eother find out or we tell them. Understanding is a precious thing hold on to it.
