Back on the street

Well Ariane finally made it to Manchester. This is a dream location because I can indulge my twin passions of following City and being a girl. The boys in blue delivered on the pitch last night with a 3–1 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League. Then back to Velvet on Canal Street, where I'm staying, for a quick change to give the girl a late run-out.

Last night Ariane ws wearing a short skirt, a Ted Baker top, a fitted leather jacket (loving those curves), the 5-inch heels, and quite a lot of pearls. It's an unusual outfit. I don't know anyone else who combines leather and pearls. But then I don't know anyone quite like me.

Being on Canal Street is very convenient. I walked up and down taking in the sights. It felt so natural to be out as Ariane, if slightly uncomfortable in the heels. I was amused that so many young men said hello and addressed me as "Gorgeous" or "Lovely." I am both, of course. I'm really not into men but I will always take a compliment, so I just smiled and thanked them. I wish some real girls would compliment me as well.

Canal Street is quite lively even on a Tuesday, but most of the places are nightclubs with loud music and dancing. In the end I went into Oscar's Bar. This was fairly quiet. Not many takers tonight. Last time I went it was full, but that was a Saturday night. It was nice just to sit there and drink G&T.

When I got back to Velvet I realised I'd left my key card in my room so I couldn't unlock the door. I had to call reception and identify myself in order to be let back in. Years ago I would have felt nervous or guilty doing that. But tonight was different. I didn't care at all. If I'm in the company of strangers, I don't mind who sees me as Ariane and who I interact with. This is me. I am happy.

The real treat for Ariane is the girls' night out tonight. This is TGirl night in the Village. I've managed to connect with an organised local group so will be meeting them all for an evening of drinks and conversation in various local establishments. I don't know any of them although I have been corresponding with Alison, the organiser. So that will be fun. Ariane is much more of a social animal than the boy back home.
