Ariane in Guildford

Another day home alone… so I became Ariane quite early on and drove off in search of adventure. My first stop was the Surrey Pride Hub in Woking. I parked in the multi-storey and walked to the venue. Unfortunately it was (again) closed during advertised opening hours. What is it with this place? Maybe I'll contact the organisation and ask them what I have to do to get in.

I thought this might happen so I had another plan. I drove back to the edge of Guildford to visit the Riverside Park Nature Reserve (pictured). This is an oasis of calm between the A3 and a built-up area. You can walk for a couple of miles around the nature reserve, beside the river and through the meadows. So peaceful.

Then it was lunchtime so I drove to the big Tesco on the other side of Guildford and bought something to eat. I didn't fancy lunch in the car park so drove to Stoke Park and found the nearest park bench.

And finally, off to Guildford College to pick up Inessa by prior arrangement – she has English classes today – and back to hers for coffee.

So I've been out a lot today, in various settings. It feels more natural and comfortable every time I do it. I was quite conservatively dressed today (cold enough for the Karen Millen coat) and I must have blended in because hardly anyone gave me a second look.
