The Game that I love

Ive  been  wanting to write about something I feel  very passsonetly  about and its a subject that  all too  oftan  I come across in the  chat room. From time  to  time   I  have heard  of  others  talk about there favorit  sport(s) team. As a  true  "Canadian" that I  am  for  me  its the  sport  of  "Hockey" and  all its  historic games like the "Stanly Cup"  or wining a  gold  medel at the "Worlds cup". there are  many levels that  a "player" is subjected  to befor becoming a "Pro"  in the  N.H.L . one  of  the  steps to  reaching the  N.H.L   happends  to  be  right  here in my  city at  the  Major Jr  "A"  level. this is where  future Super Stars  begin  like " Sidney Crosby"  or  "Phil Kessel". these players   play  from an  age of  18  to  23  and  in that  time  they  hope that a  "Scout" will like  there  style  of  play  so that they  can  be  chosen by  a N.H.L team  .  once Chosen   they  move  on to  another   team  in  a  system of  "Farm" teams  known as  the  "A.H.L  "  or  "American Hockey League" from there  the draft club   like "the  Toronto Maple Leafs"  has the  option to  call you  up or  keep you there  til  ready. I  have  to  say  not  everyone  who  is  "Drafted" by a  big  team will  get this  option most  will  not  make  it and end  up playing  for a  Univercity team . For thoes  players   this is the  last  level of  beeing able  to  play on a team and as  short as  there  studing  program  will  last like  4  years   this  is the  End .  As  you  can see  I ve  been around this sport  since my  teen age  years and  i  ve  had  the privlidge  of beeing  "in the  game"  a few  seasions. I  spent  most  of  my  time  standing at  one end  of the  rink  in front of a  4  x 8  net  and  having pucks  shot  at  me at  very  high  speeds. I know  by  now  your asking  how  is this  done  and  what  does  it  feel  like  getting hit with a puck at 100 mph or  faster.  Well i  can tell you  with  proper equipment  most  of thoes  shot you dont  feel more  or  less  a  light   "Thump" . As  for  beeing struck  in the  head  by  the  puck or  by a  olayer s  stick   is  painfull.  I  have had a  few times  had  my "Bell" rung  and  had to bench  myself  afterwards  but this  is all  part  of a  game  that  I  love !!
