This column appeared in today's newspaper, Sydney Sun-Herald:

Drinking mint tea can help hirsute women get rid of unwanted hair, a study has found. Research published in Phytotherapy Research showed that a test group of 21 unusually hairy women were given 2 cups of mint tea a day for 5 days. At the end of the period iit was found the mint tea had reduced the women's high levels of androgen hormones and countered the hair growth. Current therapies use either oral contraceptives to suppress androgen production or medications but this study shows that Spearmint could be a good natural alternative,"Professor Mehmet Numan Tamer at the
Suleyman Demirei University in Turkey said.

I also saw this elsewhere. I wonder if it can affect men’s facial hair growth as well, somehow I doubt it.
Still, it’s a nice drink. Anyone for a cuppa?

There are various kinds. I like Camomile & Spearmint myself. Mrs Cat drinks Peppermint.
