Hot Sugar

No, not the name of a new girlgroup or rap queen, and actually I guess, it should be "warm sugar". Somewhere or other I saw a reference to this as a waxing technique. The post mentioned it as if it were something everyone knew about, but I had never heard of it. Anyway, I guess instead of using wax you use warmed (and melted?) sugar and cloth stips in the same way you would do waxing.

Being into cooking and such, I seem to recall that sugar melts and caramelizes at a fairly high temp, enough to give you a nasty burn, so I'm not sure how this works. If anyone has any info on it or links, etc, can you sing out? One advantage that I can see is that sugar, being water soluble, would wash right off and not leave you all sticky like wax sometimes does. Or it might leave you with a tasty sugar glaze, like a yummy donut! Can anyone tell I'm dieting? <lol>
