Hello my name is Jane Hunt and I a counsellor and Lecturer in Counselling at Keele University.  I am conducting research  into transgender people's experiences of seeking and receiving counselling or psychotherapy outside of gender identity clinics within the UK. I am posting this message to ask for volunteers to fill in the Counselling Research Survey.

The purpose of the survey is to explore what helped and hindered people seeking counselling or psychotherapy and to hear about people’s actual experience of receiving counselling. The survey should take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

I am very aware that for many transgender people counselling or
psychotherapy has not been an affirming process.  Currently however, there
is no research in the UK  into transgender people's experience of either
seeking or receiving counselling - so I hope the findings will serve to improve counselling provision for transgender people.

To be eligible to complete the survey participants would need to identify
as transgender and have at least one experience of receiving counselling
    or psychotherapy in the UK.

The survey can be accessed via the following link:

Many thanks for your help with this survey.
