I told my Mom

So on the 10th I called up my mom and told her that I have gender identity disorder.  She lives 3000 miles away so I really couldn't tell her face to face. I suppose for me this is just another part of finally accepting who I am.  I intend to tell my wife's family on a vacation trip later this month.  So here I go ahead on my journey.  My mother took it very well and the first thing she said was "So your'e telling me that you are gay because that runs in your fathers side of the family."I told her no I am not gay as I am not attracted to men, but that I want to be a girl.  Then she talked about how there are plenty of men that crossdress and that there is nothing wrong with that at all and they don't hurt anyone by doing so.  So maybe she still doesn't really get it but I will get to talk to her more about it later.  She may well end up with another daughter but to her I suppose I will always be her son.  So that is where I am I am coming out to people and plan on continuing to do so.  No I don't look like a woman yet but I am working on that.  Thanks for your support and encouragement.  Karen
