Chevalier d'Éon

  So I was listened to a two parter audiobook from BBC Sounds starring David Tennent as the tenth Doctor Who.  One of the charactors is called Chevalier d'Eon, who was born Charles d'Éon de Beaumont or Charlotte d'Éon de Beaumont and lived between 5 October 1728 to 21 May 1810.

   

  The Beaumont Society is named after her.  I wasn't too sure whether the charactor was real or not, so I thought I checked it out one Wikipedia and I was surprised to learn thats she was an actually real person.
