When you meet someone for the first time there is always a nervousness to the occasion. You ask yourself questions, "will they like me? will i like them? Are they prettier than me?" (well maybe not the last one!) On the weekend end of the 24th/26th February i met four of the kindest, funniest and prettiest girls i have ever had the pleasure to meet. There was, for me anyway, no nerves. I felt relaxed and calm and after meeting them i knew i have made some true friends for life.

Meeting people in the flesh for the first time is daunting no matter what the circumstances. meeting people that you have only ever commmunicated by typing or texting is even more so. Not so on this occasion.

Debbie Davies, Monique H, Jacqui G and Vikki K were the girls who accepted the challenge of a night out in Milton Keynes,(in Debs and Mons case two), for some of them it was their first time out, ever! Without a word of a lie, it was one of the best times of my life. from the moment we all met each other, there were hugs and conversation and the atmosphere was friendly and girly. it was though long lost friends had found each other again and instantly we got on so well and looked out for each other as only girls can.

Ok, so to start from the inception of the weekend. I had agreed to meet Debbie when she had told the girls in chat she had won a free makeover with Style Me Quirky, run by the wonderful Pops. She had such a long way to go so i offered to pick her up and make sure she was ok after striking up a great friendship with her. She told me the date and we decided to make a weekend of it as she wanted to go out for night out, something she had always wanted to do. I said i'd meet her, take her to her make over and then we could go to a club. this then became the foundation for a girls night out. the venue, Pink Punters in Milton Keynes. A few girls expressed interest and then slowly the plan formed and dates were set.

Initially due to the date and finances, it was hard for too many girls to attend for reasons perfectly understandable. Monique had a Makeover arranged with Pops on the friday and it was arranged so both Debbie and Monique had the makeovers together and then we would go to Pink Punters after, just to see what the venue was like, you understand. Jacqui and Vikki arranged to meet the three of us in Milton Keynes on the Saturday. the weekend was arranged. I was excited. Going out is something i've always struggled with for various reasons i shan't go into now. Suddenly i had passion for it. i really wanted to do this. a chance to be me and to see other girls and have some girly fun.

Meeting Debbie at the airport on the friday late morning was the start of it, both of us with matching grins, with great excitement we hugged each other and getting in my battered old Saab, we headed to MK to check into the hotel. the car journey seemed to fly by as we talked and began to relax. both of us in drab we still saw each other as Faye and Debs, she told me of her meeting of some girls on a hen night, subsequent drinkage and an incident with an earring on the plane. Debs had made me laugh within minutes of meeting her and the laughs would continue long into the weekend.

We soon reached the hotel and meeting the wonderful Monique in the car park, (more hugging and excitement,) we all checked in and after i hastily put on some make up and my hair we went to London for the girls makeover. now i can't emphasise enough how great this day was, it deserves a blog in itself but in the interests of speeding this up, suffice to say Style me Quirky was a wonderful experience, one i had experienced a month before. the professionalism and the enthusiasm shown by Pops, Kelly and Cathy will live long in the memory, great fun and many fantastic hours were spent there. Needless to say it was approaching midnight when we realised we had to get back to MK for our night at Pink Punters. the girls kept on their make up and changed into their proper clothes and we made our way at some speed back up the M1.

Arriving at the hotel after 2am we got changed into our first set of party clothes, a girl must always be prepared, and we went out, as the GS girls. I have been out before to a club as Faye but what i experienced this time was different. I actually felt feminine. like one of the girls, i had no feelings of being a guy in "drag". this was the first of the girls nights out and i felt wonderful. Being with the two beautiful women beside me gave me a feeling great friendship and safety. Being a woman is something i am striving for in life and this weekend was the confirmation of it, it felt RIGHT!

Armed with this confidence the three of us walked across the car part, crossed the road and the sound of our heels echoed around us. after finally finding the entrance and watching as Debs almost came a cropper at the foot of the steep hill we entered the club and immediately our hearts soared, we had made it, albeit very late but none the less we were 3 girls who had meet on this very site no more than a few months ago and standing together we were finally out. we saw the large fires in the smoking area, (an area we frequented alot those two nights!) and were even more excited. even at that hour, bearing in mind most clubs would have been shut, it was still very busy at just past 3am.

Needless to say, we made our way to the outside bar and ordered the first drinks of the night (at PP's anyway) and they were almost the last when Debs was charged 20 pounds for 3 drinks! With mouths wide open in astonishment and hearts suddenly sinking we looked ateach other in amazement only for the bar staff to realise there was a mistake at the till. with the hope of purses not being fully drained in the first night, we drank our drinks and we made our way into the club and taking everything in we slowly entered the club proper. All around were voices mixed with music the atmosphere was amazing and entering the club we felt the floor pounding to the latest club anthems (i think thats the term, are they still refered to as anthems or choons?) deciding to go upstairs we tottered up and sat down and looking at each other, Monique, Debbie and I had the biggest smiles on our faces. the joy we had at being out as our better selves was immense and we raised a glass to each other and the fab day we had. after a few more drinks and a little bit of dancing it was soon 6am it went by so fast. Aside from some small creepy guy trying to lead me off somewhere, the night was over without any real incident and wearily we made our way back to the hotel. i soon found i was practising my catwalk strut with Monique. soon we were all walking the line and laughing. we were all very tired (ahem not drunk at all!) but still running on adrenaline. soon as we stood outside our adjoining rooms, We wished each other good night after a bit of a group hug then went to sleep.

Tomorrow was only a few hours away.

    To be continued....
