In 2012  I  was  contacted by a Aboriginal  friend  who I  oftan  give rides  to and from difernt locations. He contacted  me one  day asking if I would  like  to  make a  few  "bucks"? so  I  said  Shure what  do you  got  in  mined?  He  processed  to  tell  me  that  he  had this  Elderly  person  who  sometimes needs  a ride  to  and  from her  dr's  appointments and it was out  of  town. So   I  agreed to  meet this elderly  lady and take  her north  to  see  her Dr.  I  had  become friends with  her  and I  had lots of  respect for  her as well  because  she was an  "Elder"  among Aboriginals. She was a wisy gray  haired lady  and  her  name  was "Rosie  Potts" and she was 85 years old. She and I  hit  it  off well  because like  me  she  loved the old  Country and western music and when ever  I could  find a  good  fidle tune she smile. Rosie was a tired old  lady  who  had seen  life  the  hard way  by  living  on a remote  native resurve on and island . she  lived  her  life like so  many  others in her  comunity  traveling  by  boat  in spring  , sunmmer and  fall. she  ride  snowmobile  in the  coldest  of  winter's and  trying to  raise a  family the  best way  she  could. As  she  grew older  and  her  family  all grew  up and moved  away to better things there came a time she too had to  do something. As she  grew older  in to  her 60 's or 70's  getting in and out  of a  boat was  difficult  for  her .So  like  her  family  she  made a  choice  to  move  to the  city and to a  place that housed  other  elderly . In June  of 2014  I  got a call from my  buddy asking if  I would like  to  take ride  to a  hospital in the  far  north . So I asked  him why ? who was  going there?  he explained to  that "Rosie "  had a  Dr appointment  there  . At the  time  I  had  no idea what  was  going on or what was to  transpire but I went anyways. It was  late  in the  evening when I drove  up  north to  bring Rosie there to the  hospital and I was  told she would  be there for a  few days and  most likly  i would  be  called again to  go  get  her.  It  was just  over two  week when I  got the  call  but  this time it was  difernt. I  had  gotten the  call  saying  the "Rosie"  had  passed away  in  hospital due  to  a  condion known as   "Demenia".  This kind  of  news hit  me abit  hard  in the  heart  and I  felt  very  sad for  looseing   a friend this way. It  took  me  sometime to  get  over it and the  thought  had occurd that was  "Rosie 's  last  ride.               So  here 's  to  you "Rosie  Potts"   May  the  creator look after  you and  may  you rest in peece ...Amen
