ok minor spelling mistake #1 corrected
not used ot using a web package that can spell check, not even sure if hotmetal can. I normally use notepad...
The point about full integration with the rest of trannyweb is indeed a complicated issue with dynamic scripts etc. The best way is probably to, dare i say it round here, *hushed whisper* fake it...
I.e create something that looks like its part of trannyweb when it isn't. Linking to the graphics used by the rest of the site should be easy enough, basically just the text then lives as part of the faq, the surroundings are simple enough to recreate.
The first step is using the code Tiina emailed me (ta babes) to modify my style sheet accordingly. Then create essentially an 'faq site' not the single page there currently is, cus that way adding the banner at the top is way eaiser..
Project for this week i feel..
Also infomation to stick in the faq is comming on strong.. keep em comming girls, the page is gunna need splitting into sections at this rate.. Nooooo worries..

Ta for the offer.. Got my own server with 160 Gig of drive space running postfix.. normally grabs my emails every so often, several times a day at least onto my local machine..
And then Microsoft Outlook is let no where near it....
Ta though babes, i'll keep this in mind if things get a tad out of hand

ok spot the deliberate mistake...
if anyone looks at the FAQ and tries clickign a link your going to be disapointed. I'll reformat it later *by hand* and remove all the rubbish in the links. thus making it work right.
Hopefully I'll also get it validated as XHTML 1.0... if so i'll lob the icon onto it.

http://gendersociety.com/faqs.shtml
tis the same file, but now hosted as part of T-web, and trying to looka bit more like it.. tis not perfect but i'll get there

What about - "I'd like to add a banner to advertise trannyweb on mysite, but can't find a banner code?"
The following code will place a banner to tranyweb on your page that will open in a new window...
<!--- trannyweb banner start --->
<center>
<a href="http://gendersociety.com" alt="trannyweb.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://images.trannyweb.com/community/images/katie-banner-short2.gif" alt="trannyweb banner" width="280" height="75" border="0"></a>
</center>
<!--- trannyweb banner end --->

What a good idea! I had started putting together an FAQ page myself at...
http://gendersociety.com/[...]gen.cgi
...however, I think Clair's is better, so let's stick with that.
Clair, could you incorporate the questions in my FAQ's into your page?
Thanks and hugs,
Katie x

Great work Clair. Just one small niggle - Glossary not Glossery - I think it is the teacher coming out in me sorry otherwise great.

I think the proper way to do this would be to bring the FAQ page inside the Trannyweb environment. That way the 'corporate theme' would continue throughout and the menu would appear at the top of the page.
Nearly all the pages on this site are generated 'on the fly' by hundreds of PERL scripts, so bringing the FAQ page inside is not as easy as you may think.
We would of course, also have to give Clair access to it as she is the keeper of the FAQ.
Let me have a word with the programmers and I'll get back to you.
Hugs,
Katie x

We now have a new FAQ's and knowledgebase area which also allows users to post their own questions.
See it here:
