Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Jamie and I am the admin of a site called
http://www.getsomethingextra.com I am in the process of setting up my site and also my affiliate program. So why am I here? Well, the site I am creating is for transsexual and transgender singles to be able to find their soulmate without having to hide who they are or how they became who they are today.
My reason for starting this site is simple. Years ago I worked with a lady who was born male but transitioned into a female in her early twenties. Now this was in 1980 something and people at work were cruel. She wasn’t allowed to get to the ladies toilets because she was a "guy" she didn’t want to go to the men’s toilet because she was a female. So anytime she needed to go pee she had to get in the lift, go down to the ground floor, go across the street and go to filthy public toilets because she was so discriminated against.
Anyway, around a year ago I started in a new position and she was employed there as their Chief Financial Officer. We recognized each other immediately as we had been friendly 20 years ago. She called me into her office and shut the door and begged me not to say anything about her being a guy…they didn’t know…she didn’t know how they would react….something I am sure you have heard many times. I assured her that her secret was safe with me and indeed it always was. I asked her about relationships and she told me how hard it was to "meet" people. It’s not like you meet someone and say "Hi nice to meet you…Oh and I used to be a man/woman" So I have been working on the creation of a dating site that specifically is transsexual/transgender people. It will allow them to come out with who they are and let people know about them as the person they are not the sex they were born.
Anyway, the site is a work in progress but we can accept profiles now as well as have free live chat and video and so I need members to help me work out the bugs and make improvements to make sure everything works! Please note this is NOT a porn site. It is a genuine dating site and all fake accounts will be banned. The site is completely free for TS/TG ladies, I am not out to make money I am out to make lives and happiness
Kind Regards
Jamie

Hi Joni!
Umm no I didn't to be honest I wasn't sure where to put the info LOL If you can tell me the best way to contact her I will certainly do that and I am happy to delete this thread until she says it's ok. To be honest it's hard to tell anyone about the site without feeling like you are spamming but I don't know how else to tell people LOL
I will say that whilst I am a GW I have spent most of my life around TS/TG people (area I work in) so I am aware of the hormones and the mood swings and the best place to get great wigs and how your hair falls out and how you get bloated and how your feet ache in heels but damn don't ya look good LOL
I will contact Katie right now...cos I am rambling LOL
Take Care

Honestly...
I don´t appreciate men who date me BECAUSE of my background. That´s why I normally tell them ONLY when we have ben dating a long time and the relationship looks stabile.

Hi Laura
That's a very interesting comment, especially as the reason I created the site was because it allows you to be you right from the start without any surprises on either part.
So you mean that people date you because of "what" you are rather than who? so you don't tell them until after they know you as a person....that's interesting...Being a GW I think I personally would rather know up front so I can know the full person rather than a part of them. But that's just me

Well, the way I see it the only place I really can give full expression of myself as a person is, well, in person. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean success in relationships.

To Jamie
Not everybody is like you Jamie. I have lived through a couple of small tragedies after I told the man.... in one case he just kicked me out after sex. And that was our second time, when I thought, okay if I go steady, it is time to tell.
So I cried the whole trip on the bus home, got one lady to comfort me telling me "no man is worth of a girl´s teardrop".

Hi Laura
Wow I can never understand why people just don't treat people as people and not an object or a gender or even a sex. I know it may sound naive and idealist but if we all thought that way then I think the world would be a little better. I am sorry for you experiences but I hope like me you have managed to change those small tragedies into enormous strengths

I think there are three kinds of men fom my point of wiev. There are men who are afraid of their own identity and cannot accept my past. Then there are men who don´t care.
And finally there are men who think my past is a positive thing. It is a question of good luck who of these pop out into your life...

Hi Sarah
You want to know something Bizarre, I originallly had 2 S's and got an email correcting me. So I did a google search and the term came up with nearly equal frequency. So then I went to www.dictionary.com and again had it come up as both spellings BUT there were more for two s's so when I get home from the Holidays I will fix it
Have a great Holiday season!
Regards

I am keeping this on this thread so I am not spamming, I would like feedback if I could on this banner. I know it's a little slow but that's how it's pulled from the server

Hi Jamie-
First off, let me say I applaud what you are doing and while I am not in the market for a dating service I think what you are doing is certainly worthwhile if all is as you represent it. Please don't read anything into that, I'm not doubting your word or your intentions.
However, I do have one concern and that is, have you cleared this through Katie our web hostess and site owner? If you have, that's great, if not, I think it would be good idea if you got hold of her and made sure it is all okay with her. To be honest, I can't imagine that she would have a problem with it, but as moderator of this particular board, I would feel much happier if I knew Katie had signed off on it.
Jamie, I hope I didn't come off as sounding too officious or tighta**ed about this. Please let me tell you that you are very welcome here and you sound like a wonderful, intelligent and sensitive person. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me off list, okay?
Hugs...Joni

Jamie, thank you so much for your genuine and courteous reply. I got your offlist TW emails, as you know. I'm sure Katie will be totally fine with what you are doing, she is a wonderful person and undboubtedly the best webmistress a girl ever had.
I look forward to corresponding with you and I can tell that you will be great addition to our little family. Glad you're here.

Two peoples seperated by a common language, Lucy
transexual
n 1: a person who has undergone a sex change operation [syn: transsexual] 2: a person whose sexual identification is entirely with the opposite sex [syn: transsexual]
Source: WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University
In The Colonies, both spellings are correct and one S seems to be common usage.
If the site is based in UK, however, one could make a case for the "correct" spelling being two S's.
January 3, 2006 2:00 PM GMT
Well I hope we are not actually separated by our common language. If Americans want to spell transsexual with only one S then that presumably is their constitutional right, or something.
Trans is a common prefix, from Latin of course, and there is no such word as “exual”, hence two S’s is the correct spelling; trans…sexual.
Not that it really matters of course…
xx
By the way Wendy, is “seperate” the correct spelling in America?
I should have been a schoolteacher.
January 3, 2006 2:35 PM GMT
She caught ya Wendy. It's separate.
Lucy if you like doing spell checks. You'll love me. My spelling is atrocious.
January 3, 2006 9:01 PM GMT
Well crap, that means my little tagline about accessorization is wrong, too. Spank me and make me stand in the corner. Whoops, did I type that out loud?<g>
Hugs...Joni

Your spelling of separate is correct in both UK and USA, Lucy. Even at 1 o'clock in the morning.
Your source of transsexual is correct, but we sometimes drop double consonants in cases like this. We also dropped the "u" in words like colour Perhaps we were too busy colonizing North America to take time to write the extra letters. Perhaps King George III was taxing ink.
Our language has changed common usage, even within my lifetime, mainly due to incorrect usage over time by the less educated.

The problem with text messaging is not one of poor education in English. It is more from poor education in touch (speed) typing and the impatience in the most recent generation. If you dont respond quickly, they are gone. Sesame Street has a lot to answer for.
