Great News

This afternoon I phoned the Gender Recognition Panel enquiring about the time taken to deal with applications. I was told that at present it is between 8 - 12 weeks. I was asked for my case number and told that it was in front of the Panel yesterday. I've been successful and my Gender Recognition Certificate will be in the post this afternoon.

    A very happy Alina xxx

The postman was early today, so the delivery was a bit of a shock. However there was a cardboard backed envelope postmarked Liecester. In it my GRC. No more waiting now.

All the rights of a female, great.

I think I'll stick with the Ms that I currently use. After all I am a divorcee. There were two female names on my decree absolute. Alina was the petitioner, her ex the respondent.

Yes it will be Mrs later this year.

    Thanks Michelle xxxx

    Alina, hon--

I am sooooooo happy for you! This is great news--in a way I am envious.

But I am so thrilled for you, Ms. Wicks!

Last Wednesday I received my new birth certificate. WOW, back in January 1950 I was born a girl. On Thursday 22 May it received its first official outing. It was used when Bob (Belinda) and I gave our Notice Of Marriage at Oxford Registry Office. So on October 18th 2008 Ms Alina Wicks will become Mrs Alina Whiteman.
This is one happy girl (well lady really). I'm counting down the days to my GRS now as well. 49 days today!!!!!
