    Hi Everyone,

I came across this article as one of the headlines at the top of my gmail:
    http://www.forbes.com/200[...]stories

It's an interesting article on shopping and how to be economical about it. Mind you, the pumps they show in the gallery of 8 essential items are a wee bit on the pricey side it is possible to use this for any budget.

That's a good one as well, thanks.

One of the challenges I have is that I'm basically starting from scratch with clothes.

One of my favourite items is a kilt, you can wear it all year round by just changing the colour and denier of your tights, (pantyhose to you US gals), and whether you pair it with a blouse or a sweater. Plus, it looks great with boots in the daytime, and equally good dressed up with heels for the evening. Make sure you get a good quality one with a length that works all year round. (No micro kilts please so before you ask, no, it isn't the one in my pic), lol.

Other than that I guess my top 10 would be:

A good fitting pair of low waisted bootcut jeans.
A pair of low waisted skinny jeans
Knee high boots that can be worn equally well with skirts or jeans.
Black heels/pumps that can also be worn with skirts/jeans.
A white blouse that fits well around the waist.
A sweater with a slightly longer length to wear with almost anything.
A jacket that can be worn all year round.
A blue denim skirt can also be a good investment.
And of course, the LBD is essential.

All of these can be worn all year around and are very easy to mix and match to create lots of different outfits. Some of them are similar to the link, so maybe it's a European thing. Certainly your own style will come from within, but you will also be influenced by what others are wearing, since we always say dress to blend in, and that varies country to country.

    Let's hear your ideas.

    Nikki

Don't let Mere find out you have a LBD. As far as she's concerned there up for grabs.
