I have mentioned before that many Native American traditional cultures accepted the role that an individual chose to live as their "gender" and even "Two-Spirit" people who were not fixed to one gender role but could perform roles of either gender and some roles that were theirs alone. This makes so much sense that it seems, to me, to be a crazed view that would limit an individual to a role that does not fit them. I trained as a warrior and as a nurse. I have performed both roles when appropriate. Should I give up one or the other. Even today people find males as nurses to be strange, yet the first formal nurses were medieval knights, Knights Hospitalers. Native American Two-Spirit persons sometimes rode as "nurses" on war parties.

    Too silly, too silly.
