Thank you for your vote of confidence, girls. I promise to do my best, and to be fair.
As for Sandra, I do miss her postings. Like those by Lucy and Laura, among others, I always found her point of view to be so interesting, whether or not I saw the issue from a different side. I was able to persuade Mariette Hardeman to return. Maybe I could do it again!
Thanks again, and let's make this a lively forum!

Mere, I think you'll do a great job. You're always helping others and offering the best advice you can already. nice to see you recognised for it. I think you'll add an interesting input into the forum.

Meredith,
I agree, it would be a good thing if Sandra could be brought to share her insights again. But as i'm sure you remember, it was because of the hell raised in early spring i mentioned Mariette at all. Could have been done some other way perhaps, but i'm not so sure. It's the same thing with my post about Sandra here now. I'm glad Joni asked about her, but i posted my answer because of the "recent conflicts" and the fact that it has made me grow tired of this place. It was pretty much the same when i brought up the question of what happened to Mariette too, some months ago. I remembered that more than a year ago you were the only one of her friends asking - openly - why she left. And the same with Sandra some months ago. So, you're certainly worth some confidence.
As for moving on... we all must do that. But i do not forget easily. The fact that Sandra stopped posting after the conflict between me and another member in early spring is an important reason why i have not been moving on the way some people might have preferred. In my view that conflict showed clearly that we can not express our views without taking the risk of being unjustly attacked - for an extended period of time. And all i did was reacting to a grossly intolerant comment. Then i was asked to apologize for my reaction, by that member and by an admin friend of hers. I do of course expect nothing similar from you, Meredith. But I find it worth mentioning here as it clearly concerns the question of moderation - and the reasons why some members may prefer to leave.
