It's true - a single person really can make a difference. The proof of the pudding is in one of our Tranny Tribune articles this month, about what happened to TS girl, Stefanie Imbruglia when she tried to get a passport so she could go to Thailand for her reassignment surgery.

    Please read her story here...

...and then let me know what your thoughts are. I think she is a very brave girl who stood up to the establishment and proved to us all that one person can make a difference.

    Stephanie,

I, for one, am very proud of you. You are a credit to your gender.

Good on you, Stephanie, for standing up for your rights, and for the rights of all of us, against governmental heavy-handedness despite how much time, effort and energy it took on your part. Due to people like you, things are gettng better.

    Hugs...Joni Mari

    Awesome

Stefanie put herself out there for others, although she worked with a group, her personal story was the trigger to get things done. And well done!

Good for her for making it easier for all those who came after, that's very selfless. There are a lot of women who don't or can't have SRS or HRT and being able to still live and travel legally in their presented gender is of utmost importance.

The situation we have witnessed here as to the stupidity of " Broad and one size fits all laws are one of the primary reasons I present myself to now the world as a proud Libertarian ! Ellen

Stephanie, There seems to be no end to the stories of courage here at GS. Yours is incredible. I guess in some way we all have a story to tell, to each of us our story is just life, but stories like yours give us all inspiration. I live near the Mexican border and there are places I would love to go to shop but I avoid them like the plague because there are border checkpoints 25 or 30 miles from the border. I always worry about having an experience like yours with the border patrol. Thinking I'm trying to sneak in to the states in a female disguise or something. I applaud your courage, I only wish that I had the courage that you and so many others here have.
    Hugs, and thank you.

Yet another reason how Howard was an evil bastard that we're lucky to be rid of.

I had only traveled to Thailand a matter of months before the Howard government (Alexander Downer as foreign minister specifically, who is known for crossdressing himself!) changed the law. We were allowed to have the passport changed to travel on for safety reasons just as was mentioned in this story. They went out of their way to make this change.

I was very lucky to not have been in that position, but it was only luck. Thats one of the many reasons why I voted out Howard. Thats one of the many reasons I ran for parliament myself at the last election. You have to be vigilant for these sorts of creeps.
