Generic Finasteride

I recently noticed that Inhouse Pharmacy (an on-line store with which I've had good experiences) now carries Finpecia and Fincar, which are generic versions of Propecia and Proscar. The new drugs are made in India by Cipla, and they are much cheaper than their American-made counterparts. I intend to ask my doctor about Finpecia and its manufacturer, Cipla, but I wondered whether any of you have tried this Indian version of finasteride. While I trust Inhouse Pharmacy, I have never ordered drugs that were made in India, and I need to know that I can trust their standards. I have nothing against India, I simply lack experience with Indian standards. For that matter, I don't know much about the Brazilian drug companies, either.

Anyway, if Cipla checks out, there is a significant savings involved for the 1mg finasteride tablets. One can get 90 tablets of Finpecia for US$50.00, whereas 90 tablets of Propecia costs US$129.99, at best. Even Alfasin (by Sintofarma / Uniao Quimica in Brazil) costs US$99.95 for 90 tablets.

With Drugstore.com, I have to use my prescription, but it's always been easy to do with them, and they renew it for me each year if I tell them to (they contact my doctor, who has prescribed Propecia for me indefinitely, but the actual prescription expires each year). With the other two sites, no prescription is needed. I'll let you know what my doctor says about Finpecia.
